Um.... there is a sticky explaining how to do a correct elimination... it's my thread called "How to help solve secret recipes". __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 11:33 AM | #12 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. I would really appreciate ALL your input!!!! Sorry if this comes off as harsh, I don't mean it that way... but we need to stop making new threads about every little thing and just get back to blending. People should pick combos they want to do and do them. In my opinion overlapping combos are just not that common. If you are paying attention and reading the posts on Amneris's thread and the individual recipe threads you can totally get an idea of what others are working on based on their posts. And if you want to do a combo that you feel they might have done or might be doing then pm them.
For me being part of this team means I tell you what I've done so that you don't spend your kc on the same thing I did. But quite frankly I don't feel the need to have a gazillion threads in this section about who's doing what, when they are doing it and whether or not they are done. Post your elims on Amneris's thread when your finished. Anything else just becomes confusing (AND DISCOURAGING) to new people. If you find that someone else is doing or has done the same thing you have then pm them to discuss what you can do to work together. It does not need to be discussed on a thread... and if it is it should be on the thread of the recipe you're trying to solve... not Amneris's thread and certainly not a new one! There's no need to have it all over threads in all different places which makes it THAT MUCH HARDER for new people to join in. In my opinion the "For recipe solvers eliminating the ytt set" needs to be closed now, we've eliminated it... not to a 2/5/09 date... but it's done. There's an error somewhere... let's just go back to blending.
I've listening to everyones opinions, and I do respect them. Please do the same for mine. And please know that I spend time EVERY DAY reading EVERY new post in this section. THAT is what I think that EVERYONE needs to do in order to successfully help in this section. But we have to make that easy for every one to do and more new threads is NOT the answer!!!!! It's just confusing for people!!!!!!!! __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 11:37 AM | #13 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. I would really appreciate ALL your input!!!! I should have stated first how much I love you Peg! I think you are a shining example of someone who works tirelessly at blending and trying to solve these!!! __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 11:44 AM | #14 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. It could even be at the top of Amneris thread if there were a way to keep it the first thing people see. The problem with the way it was, was that many people didn't know to post what they were working on on your thread MCJ, they just found Amneris thread and there was no place to post what you were working on there. Also, the suggestion could be made to "team up" so the KC burden on each person is lessened. I, myself, will go broke trying, but I know not everyone feels as strongly as I do. I imagine someone would have to run this by Justin or whoever to get it accomplished. We could use your thread MCJ, if it could get stickied or even put up in the place where the special Mega Stove is listed. That is so obvious I don't think anyone could miss it. I'm sorry, but I will in most cases not post my combos before trying them and I don't think we can force new people or old people to do this either. I jump around doing different things based on different ideas, obviously none of them have panned out for me... but while I love being on the "team" I'm going to come right out and say that I WANT TO SOLVE YTT OR DL!!!! I don't want anyone to waste their kc on something I've done... but I also kind of want to be able to go with my own ideas without having to report them first!!! Ya know?!?!?!
I obviously have some strong opinions... I don't mean to be mean with anything I say! I've got a smile on my face while typing this!!! I always end up liking for the most part what everyone decides to go with, or I learn to live with it, but I've got to voice my opinion!!! __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 12:05 PM | #15 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. I would really appreciate ALL your input!!!! I was thinking of something else too... my suggestion to combine monkeecj's 2 threads... or at least put the pics and boosts in one place... or something like that... we should try to see how we can improve the threads we have instead of just immediately making new ones... I'm sure the how to help solve thread could use some updates... EVERY chef on WI at the time I made it contributed something to it and I'm sure that there could be some updates or additions to it... but I think that thread explains how to use all the other threads fairly well... __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 12:08 PM | #16 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. So, she and I were doing the same thing at the same time and it could have been avoided if we were to post ALL IN ONE PLACE
I know how you feel about this one... I don't think they even joined or ever posted anything til they did that... People who use these threads should contribute to them!!! They should have been posting back when they first started in July!!! __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 12:12 PM | #17 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. Quote: I had posted on Monkeecj's thread and so anyone who was gong by that list knew, but anyone going by any of the other numerous threads, including Amneris' would not have known and a newcomer would not even know to look there to see what people are currently working at.
I think the solution is to post combos as you do them... that person really should have done that... or when they were reading Amneris's thread and saw you were doing those combos joined and posted so you would have known. I don't think there was any way to avoid that situation since that person hadn't ever posted here before. (to my remembrance anyway) __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 12:14 PM | #18 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. Hence, those items that don't show up "in line" with the other items that I'm experimenting with could be left out of the eliminations without anyone knowing it. I've got to be careful to clear all food items out of my dock BEFORE I start buying the food to complete all 95 eliminations. Has anyone else noticed this? Perhaps this is where the fault lies? Are there any suggestions as to how to organize this so that the rest of us that want to be involved in trying to solve this recipe can feel that we are working in tandem? This is why my how to help solve thread says this...
*It's easiest to see what you've got if your dock is clear of other foods! __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 12:23 PM | #19 | =^..^= Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 16,840 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. After all, it is going to be closed now anyway! I will admit I didn't pay as much attention to this thread... I don't want to know what someone else is "doing"... I want to know what's been done. I think that more than a few people only posted on this thread when they finished something... meaning it took me having to look there and Amneris's thread and the ytt and dl threads to find combos that had been "done"... again... confusing for people...
I find if I pay attention to what people are posting on Amneris's thread that at most I risk overlapping one combo... if I pay attention and notice that someone has done a root beer combo I can pm them if I want to do something with root beer to find out if they are working on all root beer combos or if it was just a random one... I think we all need to just pay attention and read through the new posts on Amneris's thread and we'll all be a lot better off!!!! But it was a little annoying to have to look in two places for that info... __________________ ♥CoCoaBean..................................................Thanks to Delilah for my siggie! ~ Check out the WIki for lots of great Webkinz & Webkinz Insider Info! ~ | | | 09-11-2009, 01:27 PM | #20 | 1collector Gifted Join Date: Aug 2009 Posts: 821 | Re: I have a suggestion for making recipe solving more organized. I would really appreciate ALL your input!!!! Wow that was alot of stuff to read. I dont think the intent of this thread was to start a new thread for solvers i think the intent was to get ideas of how a good way to have recipe solvers to work in coordination with each other.
That being said. I do think there should be ONE thread that is clearly titled that everyone goes to. The first time I posted on a recipe solvers thread is when i posted about the candy apples on Amneris's thread (which was infact the first thread i posted on at wi). I havnt used any other thread for tracking recipes done. Just reciently i have found out about other threads tracking ytt recipes and i dont even look at them when doing my eliminations. Having more then one is confusing.
I DO however think that the HHH values should be on a seperate thread i for one use the hhh thread for different reasons then the recipe solvers thread.
I like to post what combos i am doing before i do them and then i wait for a few hours before start eliminating them so if there is someone else doing that combo they can speak up and say they already started it or something. I really didnt want to step on anyones toes By "taking over" thier ingredient. and i'm sure no one else wants to either.
Sorry for the long post, just adding in my 2 cents. | | | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
