I have a question for all my fellpow recipe solvers!!!! What are your thoughts???

I have been obsessing over YTT now for a little less than a year and I know MANY of you have been at it for WAY longer. I am wondering if any of you feel like I do about it? I feel like I am kind of attached to it remaining this HUGE MYSTERY recipe and I think I will feel this sense of loss and disappointment when someone actually finally solves it! Especially if it's not me!!!I know everyone wants to be THE ONE to solve it, so I'm sure I am not alone there. I think we are kind of happily miserable over it, what are your thoughts???

For about 10 weeks I had been very obsessed with solving it and really thought in that time it would be with so many people working on it! When it wasn't I got a bit down wondering if we would ever solve it and wondering if we missed something. Even though I know that there are still many thousands of combos left to try in an organized manner, the start of school and the accompanying chaos has made YTT a bit less of a focus for me for now.

I think I will be both thrilled and sad when it is finally solved. 10 weeks ago I wanted to be the one to solve it, right now I would just be thrilled for anyone to solve it

I felt that same way a while back, like I would be thrilled just to see it solved, but then I realized it would be like saying good bye to a painful limb that you have to have amputated!!!

I TOTALLY agree! It's such a cool mystery that I will be somewhat disappointed once it's solved! In my head while I'm blending I often look at the screen and imagine YTT showing up and I'm fully convinced I'll have a heart attack should it ever actually appear! Every time I even imagine it showing up I get that vertigo feeling in my chest!!! So if there's ever a time that I'm not on for a while please contact Delilah to make sure I'm ok! If she says that I'm in the hospital tell her to find out what combos I was working on!!!

If I'm not on for a long time, I don't know who you would contact. Just assume I made it and died before I got to tell you guys what the ingredients are!!!

Well of course we are happily miserable. I am sure if the ingredients are horrible we will all feel cheated but I think if it is solved in a good way. Nice ingredients and by a nice person I think I will be happy with the solve. Of course I too deep down want to be the one to solve it, but if it isn't me I will try and be the first person to congratulate the solver.

I would congratulate them too, but what if it was somebody that never tried, but just threw three things in a blender an "poof" out comes YTT!!! They would have NO IDEA how hard we have all worked and how much we have invested, both financially (virtually) and emotionally!!!! I f one of you guys that has devoted a lot of time and money to solving it gets it, I will feel alot better, but it better not be MONKEECJ- he's got tooo many solves under his belt already!!!!

...which doesn't really answer your question but leads to an answer. I am not quite sure how I would react yet - definitely some mix of disappointment and happiness that would be too complex to put into words. The above makes me realize early how strange it will be to not have YTT there to try to solve, though!! It has ALWAYS been there, so how amazingly uncomfortable to not have YTT as a stickied thread anymore!!! I can hardly think about it!!
