I did not notice the two pear leaves sticking out from underneath the pearl, so thank you for pointing that out. And the plaid placemat/pretzel comparison is an interesting fact, but I am more likely to agree that Ganz just wanted to repeat an ingredient on purpose. As for Poppaballoo, I agree that the ingredients somehow fit in there for me. You can notice from the "Congratulations" picture that there are pinkish spots at the top of the balloon, and the colors on the eggs' plate sort of match the colors on the basket.
I observed today that carrot cake, broccoli, and granola cereal have never been used in a blender recipe. The healthiest ingredient used in a blender recipe is salad, which was used in Quendidot Buzzitree (or whatever it's called). I just thought that was interesting... | | | 02-13-2009, 02:58 PM | #232 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* Originally Posted by aquiverful ...nor would I have ever thought of hot chocolate for the "hot air" part!! I was stuck on thinking hot chocolate deserved to be in Poppaballoo and even to this day I feel ashamed of Ganz for not including it in the recipe... That is the main reason I felt forced to mention it in my follow-up. | | | 02-13-2009, 03:13 PM | #233 | Gak Manufacturer Gift Trainee Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 555 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* No, I was not aware that you completely eliminated hot chocolate on your own! Wow!! That's a load of kinzcash! An amazing feat for sure. I did hear you talk of the HCT but I didn't understand fully why you were eliminating hot chocolate at that time. Now I completely understand and can totally see your frustration with ganz for not using it in poppaballoo! I see now that it would have made complete sense. | | | 02-13-2009, 03:22 PM | #234 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* Originally Posted by sydney88 And the plaid placemat/pretzel comparison is an interesting fact, but I am more likely to agree that Ganz just wanted to repeat an ingredient on purpose.

Yes, I agree that it probably was just the repeated ingredient, but knowing myself I will most likely be caught throwing pretzels into an appliance if ever a new recipe has a plaid placemat.
That is interesting... I wonder what other ingredients have never been used in the blender.

I have only eliminated hot chocolate on the stove and bread on the stove completely before - no other ingredients. Another one I planned on eliminating completely myself was green grapes on the stove for Gladdugrumble. I eliminated about 60 ingredients and then only had about 20 left (which you know goes very quickly when you have so few to go) when Gladdugrumble was solved. I decided that it would really be a waste to finish off the elimination since no other recipes would qualify under the "10/1/07" dates, but if I had kept on going, both pumpkin and waffles were left in the 20 (what are the odds of that?) and if for some reason I had wanted to continue I would've been the first person to solve Spinneretti (and without trying for that recipe, no less!)!
But I have to quit saying "what if..." Last edited by monkeecj; 02-13-2009 at 03:24 PM.. It's funny how these new recipez are so obvious and the others were so not! I really think that Ganz may be messing with us now...
I was just thinking the other night how they could really be messing with us given a certain particular set of circumstances being met... so this is what I wrote down when I was thinking about it... I just had a horrible thought... what if Ganz really is messing with us... if they read here then they know we stop testing with ingredients once they are used in a set... maybe they didn't expect us to find that pretzel and fish sticks were repeated and we never would have solved these... we all thought the fondue was on the stove right... what if no one had tried the blender for twistifish fondue and we solved pearlipat first? It did have fish!... We might never have tested fish on the blender! so... look at fixichini and pearlipat... mac n cheese, pretzel, peanuts & fish sticks, salad, pear... no repeats... what if we solved in this order... which was a possibility... we may have stopped using those ingredients... It worked out nicely where we realized right away that Ganz duplicated... but what if we hadn't... I guess it's more likely that they were giving us clues or letting us know that our "theories" were wrong, but what if it's the opposite! | | | 02-13-2009, 03:50 PM | #236 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* Originally Posted by cocoabean I was just thinking the other night how they could really be messing with us given a certain particular set of circumstances being met... so this is what I wrote down when I was thinking about it... Ooh... that would've been horrible! I am so stuck to those theories that I never would've found the solution! In fact, I had to go back and add in a few ingredients to some combos I tried early on because I habitually took out the ingredients of TFF!
This more and more makes me think Abra might have a third repeated ingredient in it... which is what I am going to test next! | | | 02-13-2009, 04:13 PM | #237 | ツ JenKittyCat Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 23,417 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* Originally Posted by monkeecj Ooh... that would've been horrible! I really like pear for the repeat in this case because of the colors in freaky flan which contains pear remind me of the colors in this recipe... which is also why I'm leaning toward stove... that and I think it's soup and I don't think there were any soups made in the blender.
I was going to work on the following, but I don't know if I'll have time this weekend... so I'll just put this out there in case anyone wants to try... these are combos which contain 2 ingredients from the recent set, and I've attached a sheet of possible 2 ingredient combos with all ingredients from this set...
Here are some of what I was going to try next...
Cheese w/mac n cheese (stove & blender)
Cheese w/peanuts (stove & blender)
Cheese w/pear (stove & blender)
Cheese w/salad (stove only - someone did blender already)
Fish sticks w/mac n cheese (stove & blender)
Fish sticks w/peanuts (stove & blender)
Mac n cheese w/pear (blender only - I already did stove)
Mac n cheese w/salad (stove only - someone did blender already)
Peanuts w/pear (stove & blender)
Peanuts w/salad (stove & blender)
Pear w/pretzel (stove & blender)
Pretzel w/salad (stove & blender)
There are also other combos like doing cheese w/pretzel... or fish w/pretzel... | | | 02-13-2009, 04:16 PM | #238 | Chortle All the Way Wiki SysOp Join Date: Apr 2008 Posts: 5,546 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* Originally Posted by cocoabean I really like pear for the repeat in this case because of the colors in freaky flan which contains pear remind me of the colors in this recipe... That is the exact thing I was thinking and I was referencing that same recipe!! I have always thought pear in Freaky Flan is so PERFECT, but I don't have the slightest idea why. It just fits! | | | 02-13-2009, 04:49 PM | #239 | Gak Manufacturer Gift Trainee Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 555 | Re: All W-Shop Foods and Unsolved Recipe Pictures In One Convenient Place! *Follow-up on Poppaballoo and three others!* Oh yes freaky flans' color fits great with abra!! Good observation you two!!
Ganz could be messing with us. It's likely we would have stuck to our theories. I really wonder when they started duplicating ingredients. Could be why ytt wasn't solved long ago. I agree; I like the idea of pears now. If we just eliminated pears, macaroni, and cheeses in both the blender and the stove, then I think we must solve Abra.
I don't think that YTT has a repeated ingredient.
