Twining gave Valentine (her original name, before she changed it to Sugarplum for the winter holidays) this Sweetheart Symphony Piano from the eStore to celebrate her 1-year anniversary in WW. Valentine just loves the tune: sounds a lot like Pachelbel's Canon.

The first thing our new winter pup wanted to do was check out the clothing selection in Big Sister, Valentine (a.k.a. Sugarplum)'s closet. Judging from her selection, it would appear that we have another girlie girl on our hands! She's looking forward to Valentine's day already! Stay tuned for a pink room . . .

Oh, joy! A snow day! Blizzard, our favorite samoyed, and little sister to Valentine the polar bear, is celebrating the inclement weather with a little decorating project.

11/08/08: Holiday Baking at Twining's Diner

"Good thing we have a 2-stove kitchen, Jingle! Preparing for the big feast requires a lot of room," mused Twining.
Thanks for letting me use your diner for the Holiday cooking, Twining!" responded the apppreciative Jingle. "I can use all the oven and refrigerator space I can find at this time of year!"
"What are you baking today, Jingle?" SugarPlum inquired, as she sipped her hot apple cider.

Jingle was glad she asked. "Today, we're baking pumpkin bread, Gingerbread cheesecake, and cranberry walnut cookies. Why don't you and Tuxington stop back for lunch? We'll be serving Slipamarink Sandwiches, and Triple Hot Chocolate!"

"Thanks Jingle, we'll definiately be back for lunch! I just love those Slipamarink Sandwiches!" Tuxington replied. "Sugarplum and I are going over to visit SnoCone and Higgins this morning, to see how their Thanksgiving preparations are coming."

Chapter 2
SnoCone's Thanksgiving Dining Room:

"Hi SnoCone! Wow, your house looks fabulous, all decked out for the Thanksgiving festivities!"
"Thanks, SugarPlum! It was so nice of you to stop by! Would you care for some hot cider? I'm testing a new recipe."
"Why thank you SnoCone! That sounds delightful on a blustery autumn day such as today!"
"Make yourselves comfortable," offered SnoCone. "I'll be right back with refreshments. Have you given any thought to holiday gift-giving yet?"
"Great question, SnoCone," replied Tuxington. It's definitely time to get a plan, so we can get everyone what they really want, and avoid the last minute pressure of thinking of the perfect gift. Do you know what anyone is wishing for this year?"
"Well, I heard Jingle was wishing for Dasher to arrive home safely from the North Pole," offered SnoCone. I would like to get Jingle a gift though, even though she will be so happy to have Dasher home to play with."
"I know what you mean, SnoCone," SugarPlum agreed. "Whenever I ask someone what they're wishing for this season, they say things like, 'world peace, a clean environment, harmony and respect for all different kinds of Webbies...'. While these are wonderful things to wish for, I'd still like to give my friends little gifts."
"I guess we'll have to be more clever about finding out what each one wants," Tuxington suggested.

Chapter 3: After the feast...

"Hi Jingle!" What are you making today?", Sugarplum wanted to know.

"Happy Sunday, SugarPlum!" I'm trying to figure out one of Chef Gazpachio's new secret recipes. It's called, 'Ainbowray Canape".

"Sound's like fun! Wht do you think is in it?", inquired Tetley.
"I'm just getting started. I won this one in the Woodland Wonders game in the magical forest. What do you think I should try?"

"We're going visiting today, so we'll ask some friends, and let you know what they suggest," offered Tuxington.

What should we make for Thanksgiving Dinner?
We thought we'd start with some hot cider,

Only 2 more days till the big feast...
The menu has been set by committee, and the shopping is complete.
Today we start preparing appetizers, and make-ahead biscuits.

This festive new kitchen was inspired by our friends,
Powerhouse247 and KittyKat913,
who entered cheery Halloween kitchens in Shadow's Spooktacular Showcase!

The appetizer table will include a fresh vegetable tray, and a pickle/olive relish tray, of course. Three dips this year: everyone's old favorite spinache dip with water chestnuts from the Knorrs vegetable soup recipe; traditional chick-pea hummus; and a baby lima bean hummus with lemon and garlic.
Then to celebrate the harvest, we have a nice cranberry-apple crisp, and some spicey roasted nuts.

The side dishes must include the old favorites: fresh green beans with bacon, traditional cranberry sauce, broccoli, and creamed spinache.

Happy Halloween!

Over the summer, TAWES took up residence in one of Severus's sleeping chambers from last year. He finds the firelight soothing.

Meet Shadow , the newest member of Salty's crew!
As I believe I mentioned, Salty and the gang just can't wait for Halloween decorating in Webkinz World! Shadow is full of creative energy, and ready to take on the challenge. She is hoping for a new bat-friend later this weekend.

Here she is with her PSF, fried batcakes, and PSI, Witches Brew Bathtub, in an almost empty Midieval Room, waiting for WShop Halloween furniture....

At last! Our long awaited new friend, Severus, is here!

Harry Potter fans will recognize the name... Snape turned out to be a complex, but likeable character in the end.

Severus will be sharing a room with Shadow, at least until the W-Shop Halloween theme gets here. Here he is with his PSF, Freaky Fruit Frappe, and PSI, Batwing Chair.



It would appear that Severus is the 10th member of our Webkinz family. Hence the new Dragon bed that was an option in the special giftbox.


Severus and Shadow are very anxious to hear any Halloween decorating ideas you may have. Feel free to post here, or give us a link to a thread where we can see some creative inspiration. Also, they are hosting Shadow's Spooktacular Halloween Showcase on the "Member contests for food" thread. Would love to see your posts there! See link in my Siggie! Thanks for your help! 21 Sept ... 10 Clever and very Creative Contestants completed round 1 of Shadow's Spooktacular Showcase! The rooms were awesome, and the costumes were delightful! Round 2 ends tonight, and Shadow and Severus have been overwhelmed with the culinary creativity of 6 contestants who entered Halloween Recipez for Chef Gazpachio's consideration! Here's one Shadow and Severus made up, just for fun...

What a difference a year makes!
Last year we were new to WW, and Shadow and Severus were beside themselves with anticipation of some Halloween furniture. They hosted a Spooktacular contest to see all the awesome Halloween decorating possibilities from their friends here at WI. This year, they're starting the harvest season with a lively get-together at Shadow's Leaky Cauldron Grille:

Severus's Great Pumpkin Watch Party [2008]
Chapter 1: Pumpkin Harvest

"The pumpkin harvest is ready! The pumpkin harvest is ready!" Severus flew shouting through the streets of Kinzville. "Come on out to my pumpkin patch and help me welcome in the Great Pumpkin!"

Severus's best friend, Shadow, the black cat, was the first to arrive, dressed in her favorite witch outfit with white Hollywood shades.

Junior, the cheeky monkey, and Matilda the monkey were the next to arrive. Junior chose a cowboy costume, while Matilda dressed as a ballet princess.

Tetley, the elephant, stopped by in his favorite wizard outfit.

Lil' St. Bernard, Professor Higgins, and Lil' Gold and White Cat, Sir Henry Morgan, are dressed as Autumn Leaves in their Fallfest clothes.

Hobbes the tiger is dressed as a bumble bee.

Splash is wearing her trademark chef outfit.

Salty is wearing her pirate outfit, complete with Webkinz Crown of Wonder.

Wonder when the great pumpkin will show?

Chapter 2: Nightfall

The sun has set. The Harvest moon has risen. The wind is howling through the trees, causing the last of the autumn leaves to fall. Shadow, Severus, Salty, Splash, and the whole crew are still waiting patiently for the Great Pumpkin...

Chapter 3: A Dark and Stormy Night

As the night wore on, the wind howled louder, and Lilkinz Sir Henry and Professor Higgins began to get cold in their autumn leaf outfits. Matilda was shivering in her ballerina princess costume. “Are you sure he’s coming?” she asked. “He’ll be here,” Severus assured her. “You just have to be patient.”
“Was that a raindrop I felt?” Tetley wondered out loud. “I felt one, too,” confirmed Splash. “I heard that hurricane Ichabod was passing through our area,” reported Professor Higgins.

Just then, the sky turned even blacker than black, as the moon disappeared behind the storm clouds, and rain began to pour on our little pumpkin partiers. “We’d better get inside before we all catch a frightful cold!” proclaimed Shadow. "We can dry off in the purple parlor, and still look out the windows for the Great Pumpkin. "

Chapter 4: A Cat’s Tale

And so our little group of pumpkin watchers retired to the purple parlor, where they took turns looking out the windows into the pumpkin patch to make sure they wouldn’t miss the arrival of the “Great One”.
“Tell us a Ghost Story, Shadow!” begged Hobbes. “I just LOVE your stories!” “Yes, Shadow! PLEASE!” echoed Matilda.
“Okay,” began Shadow. “Once upon a time in Kinzville, there lived a Raven, named Edgar A. Crow… Edgar lived in an old abandoned house at the top of the hill…
“Sorry to interrupt your marvelous monologue, Shadow, but is anyone else feeling frightfully famished?” Professor Higgins inquired.
“Now that you mention it, I’m having difficulty being creative on an empty stomach,” Shadow agreed. “Why don’t we go next door to my Leaky Cauldron Grille, and maybe Splash can whip us up some snacks while I play some tunes for you on the piano? Would you mind, Splash?”
“Great idea Shadow! It would be my pleasure!” responded Splash, with her trademark enthusiasm. “I can make a Freaky Flan, and some Scarey Berry Crunch, some of those new triple twisted broomstix might be nice on a night like this, and perhaps a nice Almond Blutrice Punch to rinse down the sweets!”

Chapter 5: Melancholy Melody

The little band of costume-clad friends paraded into the Grille for a midnight snack. As Splash busied herself in the kitchen, preparing an elaborate spread, Shadow entertained them with tunes on the piano. After a few songs, Salty started to notice the tempo was slowing, and the chords were sounding a bit, - well, sad. “Is everything okay, Shadow?” she inquired.
“Well Salty, I guess I’m a little sad.”
“What are you sad about, Shadow?”
“Well, Halloween is my favorite time of year! I’ve had SO much fun playing dress-up, and making new recipez, and decorating – yes, especially decorating! I guess I’m just sad because it will all be over soon.”
“I understand, Shadow. It’s kind of ironic, isn’t it? Here we are on the night before Halloween, waiting for the great pumpkin, enjoying tasty treats together with all of our best friends. It should be the happiest time ever, but we’re sad to think it will soon be over.”
“What do you do when you’re sad for something to end, Salty?” Shadow asked of her big sister.
“Well, Shadow, I guess I usually try to begin something new that will be just as much fun as the thing that's ending.”

Too Cool! I am jealous, I looked for the Bat at the mall today but couldn't find it . I lust after the batwing chair. I too have ablack cat named Pandora and have a Halloween room from last year. I subscrbe to your thread so I'll trey to post it to you later today. I love your rooms and their narrations. Your bat's name is perfect! Does he fly like some of the new birds?
