I rake all the weeds out everyday and yet half of my plants in the same room are on a different growing cycle. So when the first crop comes up I dig the rest up.
I thought they were all suppose to be harvested at the same time, and yes they are all the same type of plants, so I just do no understand. Does anyone else have any ideas? I think I might call Ganz tomorrow to ask them. | | | 10-12-2009, 06:45 PM | #2 | call me Hermione Webkinz :) Join Date: Sep 2009 Posts: 1,846 | Re: I don't understand? i am not quite sure, did you plant them all on the same day, and welcome!! __________________ thanks wtl43 | | | 10-12-2009, 06:58 PM | #3 | Gift Trainee Join Date: Jun 2008 Posts: 387 | Re: I don't understand? Why do you dig them up? Just because they get on different growing cycles doesn't mean that they have to be dug up--you only have to do that when they "die" and turn brown if you haven't tended them for several days. Plus if you don't harvest everything all at once you have less to sell at one time at the W shop.
I think having weeds may slow down the cycle, though I'm not sure. My strawberry garden was planted at the same time and they are all on the same cycle, but I have another garden that seems to differ. Could it be that you miss weeding a plant here and there?
Also, are your plants all the same kind? Because the different plants have different growing cycles. Watermelons and pumpkins are, I believe, the slowest, and I think strawberries are the quickest.
Good luck at any rate! | | | 10-12-2009, 07:04 PM | #4 | owzers, I'm too Gifted Join Date: Mar 2009 Posts: 3,141 | Re: I don't understand? I know how this works. When you garden, some of them randomly have weeds correct? When there are weeds programmed into a plant it stops the growing cycle for that day. The next day it begans to grow normally until itgets weeds again
Oh, and to pheobe- Carrots are the quickest i believe. They hrvest every 7 days __________________

You dont have to water so that saves sometime but i'm pretty fanatical about harvesting certain sections on dif days if you doit ever day and you always weed your plants i dont know what else it could be. Phoebe's mom is right though if you dont mind digging them up just makes you lose money you could have earned by harvesting the plants on a different day. Mine for example is to large to harvest all one day so i harvest one section from each garden a day. Good luck with your garden hope this helped some __________________ Lover of my 12 Webbies: newest Big Green (Monster) | | | 10-12-2009, 11:36 PM | #6 | billykinzb Webkinz :) Join Date: Jun 2009 Posts: 16 | Re: I don't understand? Good luck at any rate! I know I have not missed any weeds. I have closely monitored it this go round. I dig them up because I like having them all on the same cycle. It looks so cool having a whole patch of pumpkins.
I also have five fields of strawberries, and two fields of carrots, one corn field, and a mixed garden.
I know different plants have different growing cycles. I play webkinz everyday so I am sure I did not miss it. I am so careful, and it is not just one or two it is about 30 out of 100 in my pumpkin patch.

So if I rake it everyday then I should not loose anything on the growth cycle. Last edited by kimmekinz; 10-12-2009 at 11:36 PM.. | | | 10-13-2009, 02:58 AM | #7 | Rocks! If you weed and water all your plants every day, all the plants of the same type will be on the same growth cycle and you should be able to harvest ALL of them on the same day. That's how mine are. (I'm like you, too - I like to harvest the same kinds of plants at the same time.) Also, it tells you that with that message that pops up after you harvest an item. I always look and it's always the same number of days specific to each type of plant.
Have you checked what it says about this in the How To Grow Your Own Food Guidebook? Sorry, I would check for you but Webkinz is currently off-line right now.
It could be some new thing Webkinz is doing. I hope not. | | | 10-13-2009, 12:21 PM | #9 | Gifted Join Date: Jul 2008 Posts: 6,245 | Re: I don't understand? I have the same problem too. When I started growing strawberries I did one garden room a day for 10 days. Thinking Yay one room will be ready to harvest every day. this worked for awhile. Now I'm on a pattern where I get 600 one day and 200 other days. Ugh... | | | 10-15-2009, 09:17 AM | #10 | owzers, I'm too Gifted Join Date: Mar 2009 Posts: 3,141 | Re: I don't understand? Okay but if you rake it the same day....would it not continue to grow normally? Like I said I garden every day. So if I rake it everyday then I should not loose anything on the growth cycle. the way they program it is weird. I planted all ym carrots the same day. Some of them tended to have more weeds then others, and on their firsr harvest day, they weren't all ready. If there are weeds, it stops the growing cycle. When you rake, it continues the next day, after their 2 oclock maitenance. If you don't rake, it also stops the next day, and so on until it dies. That's why. If you have 3 plants, one of them didn't have any weeds in the cycle, one of them had one weed in the cycle, and the last one had a weed you didn't tend to for 2 days, the first one will pop in the correct time, the second one will pop a day later, and the third one will pop 3 days after the first one. That's how their programming works, and i kow it's very weird __________________
