(Perhaps the Map feature didn't exist in '08?)
I ask because I want to fill my gardens as completely as possible. I've left single blank spaces near entryways just to walk in and turn around, but other than that I want to plant, plant, plant. (I've got one or two that are more decorative with garden variety to feed my pets.)
Sorry if this has been addressed already; I didn't notice it when going through the thread. Thanks! It can still happen if the garden is overly full. After 10 pets you no longer get a free room and your newly adopted pet will "pop" into a random room. I even had one pop into a swimming pool.
You would think the map jump feature would work but it does not. My friend had a garden full with a spot by each opening only. Her newly adopted pet "popped" into the middle of the garden and got stuck. The map feature did not work, neither did logging out and back in. Because it was Friday evening, her pet was stuck until Monday when she could call Ganz. She now has a path through the center just to be safe.

It depends on what you are going for. If you are looking for pure profit carrots seem to be the way to go. If you get annoyed or just bored selling tons of produce then pumpkins or watermelons are what you want. If you want pretty as well as profit plant whatever looks nice to you and know that whatever you plant you will still be making profit just not quite as fast as if you planted just carrots. | | | 01-22-2010, 11:11 AM | #434 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Dec 2009 Posts: 11 | Re: Gardening for Profit Guide & 2009 Profit Stats. SEE NOTE 08/08/09 UPDATE: Sat, 06.22.09 I have a question about gardening. I just harvested my first garden full of strawberries. I took good care of the garden and did all the watering.
Some plots gave me 5 bunches of strawberries and some plots gave only one, two, three or four. Does anyone know why it is so inconsistent?
THanks

:el1: As far as I can tell it is random how many strawberries you will get. You always get at least one and never more than five. The same is true for the other plants although each has its own range.
Pumpkins and watermelons are always 1
Carrots are 1-3
Strawberries 1-5
I don't remember on the rest.
Also you do not need to water. It doesn't seem to make a difference on your yield. | | | 01-23-2010, 12:17 AM | #436 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Sep 2008 Posts: 163 | Re: Gardening for Profit Guide & 2009 Profit Stats. SEE NOTE 08/08/09 UPDATE: Sat, 06.22.09 Terrific Thread! Not sure what has happened over past two months but my strawberries have consistently been beating my carrots by a fairly wide margain All gardens have 80 plants. There are more Carrot Harvests since they grow faster and I have more carrot gardens - Carrots > Average Yield: 1.84 / plant
- Harvest #1: 141
- Harvest #2: 155
- Harvest #3: 139
- Harvest #4: 135
- Harvest #5: 156
- Harvest #6: 159
- Harvest #7: 147
- Harvest #8: 144
- Harvest #9: 151
- Strawberries > Average Yield: 3.30 / plant
- Harvest #1: 260
- Harvest #2: 265
- Harvest #3: 268
- Harvest #4: 255
- Harvest #5: 271
Last year my average yields from these same gardens were 1.98 for carrots and 2.89 for strawberries. Has anyone else seen a similar shift in yield? | | | 02-22-2010, 12:46 PM | #440 | INTER! SEE NOTE 08/08/09 UPDATE: Sat, 06.22.09 I don't keep totals like this, but I HAVE noticed for the last couple weeks that my yields seem to much lower than in the past, particularly with carrots. I used to be able to count on getting a predominance of the 3-4 yields on individual plants but now am getting more single yields.
I harvested a full field of carrots yesterday, and would guess that about 80% of the plants were single yields. A very big disappointment! But since I didn't keep a total, I can't verify with numbers. Strawberries have been lower as well, but not nearly so much as yesterday's carrot harvest.
I'd reached a point where I was going to post and ask if a recent upgrade had lowered the yields for gardening. Glad to see I'm not the only one noticing, but I don't much like to see that it appears to be true. | | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | | | Thread Tools | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off
