I think it is possible that the number you click is related to a system clock or something similar.
For example lets say the number you need to get is 933333.
The first time I click I get 523488.
I counted 4 seconds in my head and clicked again.
The next number I had was 954301 (close to 933333).
Then I waited 10 more seconds and clicked again.
The next number I had was 928811 (again close to 933333).
I have done this several times, and it seemed to always get me close.
Now even if you can get close, the odds of winning are still high, but
if you can get the first digit right, you just cut the chances down by 10.
I'm guessing that they count off the million numbers based on 10 seconds,
and it just rolls back over to 000000 at 10 seconds. Click the first time, and find your
starting point. Then just start counting for the 2nd and 3rd clicks to get close.
Does anybody else see a similar behavior if they try it? | | | 02-17-2008, 12:42 AM | #2 | ChloeAlaina16 Gift Guru Join Date: Aug 2007 Posts: 4,789 | Re: Possible quick draw trick So, if I match the first number, I take off 10 seconds?
But awesome, thanks! | | | 02-17-2008, 01:45 AM | #3 | Webkinz :) Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 59 | Re: Possible quick draw trick I'm not sure I understand the "take off" part of your question, but I think you understand what I mean. If you match the first number on the first try, then just count 10 seconds and click again. I'm guessing that the first number will be right again.
Also, start counting right from the point you click for your first chance. After the number is displayed, you will have to hit next to prepare for the next guess. Just keep counting while you hit next. You want the 2nd click for a guess to land right on be on the count you need.
I will show my example above another way. Might be helpful.
000000
100000 (1 second)
200000 (2 seconds)
300000 (3 seconds)
400000 (4 seconds)
500000 (5 seconds)
523488 -- my 1st guess (wait 4 seconds for 2nd guess)
600000 (6 seconds)
700000 (7 seconds)
800000 (8 seconds)
900000 (9 seconds)
928811 -- my 3rd guess
933333 -- the winning number
954301 -- my 2nd guess (wait 10 seconds for 3rd guess)
000000 (10 seconds)

In one of the forums WI said they are better than one in 1,000,000, but anyone know how much better? I've lost hope of ever winning one so I stopped playing | | | 02-17-2008, 09:08 PM | #6 | pablo1105 Webkinz :) Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 133 | Re: Possible quick draw trick I figure someone wins because a couple of times if I click on it later in the hour (10 of or so) it says that it's no longer available | | | 02-20-2008, 05:16 AM | #7 | Gift Guru Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 1,224 | Re: Possible quick draw trick Interesting possibility of it counting down the numbers in 10 sec cycles. Much like those darn games with the light that goes around a circle of lights and you try and stop it on your light. | | | 02-20-2008, 09:39 AM | #8 | Littlex3red Gift Guru Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 9,451 | Re: Possible quick draw trick Originally Posted by Elektra Interesting possibility of it counting down the numbers in 10 sec cycles. I like your comparison Mr. Elektra -- I was thinking the same thing -- Wonder if Williamson_39 or
Jillion, (at least one of that group) will latch on to this one..
Great observation, I would never have thought of it... | | | 02-20-2008, 01:39 PM | #9 | sugmox Webkinz :) Join Date: Feb 2008 Posts: 34 | Re: Possible quick draw trick I wish they would do a quick draw for an exclusive or rare item! | | | 02-21-2008, 02:48 PM | #10 | Gifted Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 866 | Re: Possible quick draw trick Unlike other WW games, the Quickdraw activity is not a simple client-side program (most of the arcade games do everything within the little program that is dowloaded to your PC when you play, including all the random-number generation, and only refer to the WW servers for cheat-testing and account updates for Kinzcash and items you win). However, I'm afraid that the quickdraw arrangement is more complex. This makes it impossible to be sure about odds, for example, because your "cards" appear to be defined on the remote server, not by the game running on your computer. I can't be sure, but this is what I've been able to infer.
Still, the reasonable assumption is that the six numbers are fair and essentially random, leaving you with a 1 in a million chance. This appears to be borne out by the few reports of wins we've seen in WI.
As for timing, it's an interesting idea, but a little difficult to measure, and probably impossible to actually "use" to win, because of the inability to time your clicks to six-digit accuracy, even if the numbers are based only on time. Not to be shooting down the idea, it seems more likely to me that the numbers are generated with a typical "pseudo-random" technique. While some of these techniques do use a time-based "seed" - successive results are not correllated to the passage of time, so cannot be predicted with a stopwatch. It's not a simple topic.
The only way to be sure is to keep careful track. Such a strong trend as you suggest will be obvious, or quickly ruled out. I'll be interested to see whichever way it goes!
---------- williamson_39 added 601 Minutes and 22 Seconds later ---------- LOL - I was just thinking how funny it would be if someone actually won while testing the theory. My skepticism would be put to the test! It would be worth eating my hat, just for the delicious irony of it. Good luck! Last edited by williamson_39; 02-21-2008 at 02:55 PM..
