Why I feel Doug's rocky road ice cream is worth more than a red lava.

After much trial and tribulation, I have come to the conclusion that my Rocky Road ice cream from Doug is perhaps THE most expensive item in all of Webkinz World. A red lava can't hold a candle to this thing. Let's face it.. The red lava was an exclusive given out when you initially adopted your pet a couple years or so ago. You would have had roughly about a 1/12 shot of being awarded the red lava. If you had more than 5 pets at the time you would have been awarded TWO exclusive items, so there's a strong possibility the only thing you would have had to have done to get a red lava was simply adopt a pet before that lava was retired.

Now... as far as the rocky road ice cream goes... Adopting a pet is only STEP ONE. You would have many, many more hoops to jump through and hurdles to cross to get that ice cream, whereas a red lava was just yours the moment you adopted the pet.

The fact that the red lava is now retired - perhaps that will make up for the many, many extra steps you would have to go through to get the ice cream. Plus, when people ARE lucky enough to get it they simply feed it to their pets and *POOF* it's gone forever. What's worse is if you go try to get some more from doug the second time - He offers you something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and wants even MORE gems for it! ARGH!!!! That being said..... I have determined that one of the cheapest and least valuable items in Webkinz World is worth FAR MORE than one of the most prized Webkinz World posession - the red lava.

This is how hard this thing is to get in a simple step-by-step format, based on my real-life experiences:
1. Adopt a webkinz plushie, create a Webkinz account and start mining for gems to get the oh-so-coveted crown of wonder.
2. After taking about a year or so to find all those gems, trade them for the crown of wonder.
3. Go to a zillion different color zones, in a zillion different rooms in Both kinzchat plus and regular kinzchat looking for doug.
4. Ignore all the other webkinz asking you if you've seen him, or if you want to trade your clothing.
5. After not being able to find doug - look for him again next hour. And the hour after that.
6. Ignore your parents yelling at you to get off the computer.
7. After giving in to your parents request, repeat steps 3 thru 6 the next day. And the day after, and the day after.
8. Finally when there's a full moon with Haley's comet flying overhead and you're lucky enough to have chosen the right time of day combined with the correct color zone and room, walk up to doug and click on him.
9. Get mad and go back to Arte to start searching for the gems that doug wanted that you did not have, only to find either slag or the wrong gem.
10. Beg your parents for another webkinz pet that you can adopt in order to send the new pet to see doug right away within the hour since you now know where he is.
11. Rush to store, spend real money to buy webkinz, hurry back home and adopt it within the same hour.
12. Fight all the other webkinz trying to get into the room doug is in with your new pet. Once in the room, click on doug with minutes to spare.
13. Get mad and go back to Arte to start searching for the DIFFERENT gems that doug asked the new pet for that you did not have, only to realize you already searched for gems that day.
14. Repeat steps 3 through 8.
15. When you finally are able to trade doug your two gems that Arte would have given you about 100 KC for, for the rocky road ice cream that is valued at approximately 50 KC and you feel a great sense of accomplishment - send your second pet to make the same obviously worthwhile trade with doug so you can have one rocky road to save and one to trade.
16. SCREAM at your little sister for feeding the two bowls of ice cream you got with both pets to the hungry webkinz.
17. Spend another week trying to find doug to get more ice cream, only to find him offering you DIFFERENT items for even MORE gems.
18. Go see Arte to mine for more gems to give Doug in the hopes that after he's done taking all of your gems he'll start back at the beginning and offer you your beloved ice cream after having spent real money on another webkinz and approximately a million dollars worth of gems, and close to another year's worth of time collecting them to give to doug.

What do ya think? Should they change the WIGEV? LOL!

Only after the fact, my friend, LOL! And besides, after my sis fed the ice cream to the webbies - I was stil faced with either buying ANOTHER webkinz, or trading doug a million and one gems just to get him to start all over with that dang ice cream

Well, if you insist.... just this once I'm willing to trade you a Rocky Road for a red lava (or two...)

I, on the other hand, have a bunch of RR ice cream - when Doug first came out I sent each of my 10 pets Doug Hunting for ice cream - never noticing that if I didn't have the gem he wanted he still traded - but I ended up with negative gems.... I'm still working my way back up to zero - and it will be a looooooong time before that account gets past gem belts!

Ah - but I have a secret weapon! (well - a second account that only had one pet in it.... ) - so I've been trading.... and finally got my Volcano! I was very excited and got it into my outdoor room to discover it's um.... a teeny weeny volcano.... some days I think Doug has a nasty sense of humour - sigh. Hey at least I can use it for a campfire....

Katie I reckon you are the real Doug Tracker in WI . You have shown absolute dedication to gain two very valuable Rocky Roads. I admire you for your persistence in hunting and resistance of doing something nasty to the sister who FEED those VERY Valuable Rocky Roads to the starving Webbies. If there was a Doug Tracker Trophy I would present it to you.
