I agree that society is "sue happy", so invariably there will constantly be names and combos that will tweak somebody. Perhaps one solution for Ganz is to put asterisks in parts of names to prevent them from spelling out the possible offensive word. That way people can name there pets whatever they like, but if part of the word has asterisks (ex: like tr**e) so no one can prove a word is really bad.

and no, that wasn't a bad word I used for example...I used "trade"

It appears that some words are banned even when a space is inserted. We tried to name a pet Lora Petrie and it was denied. I don't think we need to post what the problem word is, but I wanted to point out that spaces can be ignored as far as Ganz is concerned.

i wish they would do that. then the person with the *s could write in and ask to have the name approved. if approved, the *s could go away, if not, then they are either stuck there are the person gets to choose an alternative name that does not contain any *s in it.

lol! i'm sorry twilight. if you had the love puppy all ready to adopt, i'd say ask your parents to call them and see if they will help you. but i know that you are waiting till you get your puppy anyway. so maybe it will be fixed by then.

yes--spaces do not matter, it does not matter what the word is. it took me a minute to see why yours was banned but i got it now. i will not be posting that! lol.

are you still trying to use the name? maybe we can help you come up with an good alternative?

We changed Lora to Lori. Really wanted Laura, but of course that won't work. I think the "LA" messes us up more than anything else.

The "La" and "To" get us the most. maybe i'll do some looking to find out what could possibly be bad about "the" in english and spanish. i still say that we all need to write nice calm letters requesting that they fix this. while we are at it, we should request that they revise their room name filters to include wshop themes AND three or four columns with the same choices in each column. but i'm not being demanding or anything .

I tried Blanca and La Blanc. Must be the L A combo that did not allow it. Thanks for letting me know about the ban. All it means is white and I was suprised it was not allowed. :easter::goo::rbt::samoyed::seal::wt: All white animals and none named Blanca.

i think that i found out why they banned "the" and it has got to be the most obscure ridiculous thing ever!

though i doubt it, it could be this one: e. Used as the equivalent of a possessive adjective before names of some parts of the body.

or it could be another one that i won't post. let's just say that you'll never guess it and if everybody knew it, the banning almost makes sense. but, i'm not even sure its true bc it only got a 5 up/5 down rating (most things had ~300 up/ 200 down), which means its use in that form is EXTREMELY rare and the people rating the definitions did not agree with it or disagree bc they had not heard of it before.

i've also found stuff on "la" ... again REALLY REALLY obscure and (i dare say it) a stupid reason to ban it. (oh, its not bc it means "the" in spanish and french.)

i think i know why they banned "to". its similar to the problem with "la". i bet only a teeny tiny % of the people even know these things. it's so OBSCURE. if anybody on this board knew any of these, they would have PMd me with it (as they have for other things).

note to self and WW: please be wrong, please be wrong (otherwise WW won't change it back). OR please help WW fix their filters and make them intelligent filters.

someone mentioned using 11 in place of LL , you can also use II (CAPITAL i's)

1MAMAWEBKIN--if you still want to name the chipmunks you can try a PSYMUN, OR SYMUN, OR SIMUN, OR SIMUNN, AND TYHEODORE ........................... since i think its the 'the ' with that one.

for lora petrie----LORAH PETRIE...................

for LA BLANC you can try LHA BLHANC or LHA BLYANC and for BLANCA you can try BLHANCA

oh well...................... this is jsut so stupid.............................. there has to be abetter way.

One name that me myself am suprised got in was my first chihuaua,I named him Tequila,and this is not bacause I support drinking or anything,there's a swedish semi-celebrity wich I saw on tv around the time and she has a chihuaua named Tequila,I am very supprised I could name him that.
