Thanks for this thred! I checked over some names i plan to use now and maybe later on and they seem to work.

I had my Koala name rejected when I triend to add her the other week, but i hadn't known about the 'banned combos" at the time and thought it was an odd sign that i shouldn't name her in honor of my old horse who was grey ...i had found some native american names that were said to mean grey horse... her name ended up being Coretta Tareq insted...

This thred really should take the stress out of having to "re-name" my pets in the future!

Hey RedBear! Long time, friend! Just wanted to mention that I found out last night there is a 16 letter maximum for names. I don't know if anyone ever checked before or not.
I just know I never even thought about it until trying to pick a longer name last night.

My daughter named her Lil Kinz Hippo, Gayla. It is named after the little girl that signs "I want a hippopotomus for Christmas". I though that that name would be banned for sure, just because it contains part of a word that some may object to. But, it was allowed.

when i was a kid, i had a friend named Gaetana and she went by ***.

i'm sure you know that the dictionary definition for *** is happy so its not a bad word. also, identifying someone as *** is not considered derogatory and that's probably why it's not banned. OR it falls under the same category as alcohol, as in WW missed it. if they banned it, i would not agree with the banning.

(although it looks as if WI considers it derogatory. how sad.)

after some research, it appears that there IS a method to their madness. the sad thing is that 99.99% of the people wouldn't have any clue so it makes no sense. one thing that they also do is ban by a letter or two shorter to prevent misspellings of bad words.

we can continue to hope that they update their filters and get some intelligent ones.

hi there!!! it's so nice to see you! i think that i remember reading that there was a limit somewhere BUT i've never needed to worry about that . (our pets all have one word names.) i can add it to the first post, though. i'm sure there are others who might need it. thanks!

awww, aren't you sweet.

oh yes, i always work beary hard on making THAT a priority during the weekends. tmrw will be busy. need to get little red some glasses for distance. seems he is having trouble seeing the chalk board. he'll have to wear them in class and to watch tv but that's the only time that the dr wants him to wear them.

"ALL" used to be banned. So glad that they fixed that...

Since your name falls under the "oops we went overboard with the censors", you could try calling up WW and see if they will change the spelling for you, if you'd like.
