Updated: 06/07/2009 Have you got the Ms. Birdy Blues? Does she not like your pet name? This thread is here to help! WW's filter bans perfectly acceptable names bc they contain combos of letters that could be used to create a bad word.
If any of these combinations of words/letters are within your pet's name, it is not allowed. It does not matter if it is at the beginning, middle or end. (i.e., "Skipper" is banned bc has "Kippe" in the middle. "Butterscotch" is banned bc it begins with "But". "Simon is banned bc it ends with "mon" ; and so on.)
GOAL: To Get All the Banned Combos in One Spot so Naming Pets is Easier!
To Accomplish Goal: I'll add to the first post as we get more banned letter combinations. If you post your banned name, I'll go to the adoption center to figure out what is the trigger. I will not be posting any true bad or curse words. Please check the "POPULAR NAME", "BANNED COMBOS" and "ALLOWED AGAIN" sections before posting your name. You may just find that your name is already in there. If you looked and didn't see it, don't worry if it turns out that you missed it. Since the bannings are combos of letters, instead of words, they are sometimes easy to miss!
*NEW* Please do NOT post bad words that you want help with or explain "why" you think your word is banned, using a naughty term. That is completely inappropriate for this site, as it is a children's forum. Thank you for understanding.
==========================================================================
If you want to test out your banned name yourself, check out the Section, "TESTING YOUR NAME WHEN MS. BIRDY SAYS IT IS NOT ALLOWED". It can be complicated so feel free to ask for help! It's at the very bottom so you can just ignore it if that is better for you.
Albinomex did a little research and found out that 16 letters is the maximum amount of letters that you can use to name your pet.
There are many BEARY unhappy WW customers with these bannings. What WW needs is "intelligent filters". It is totally understandable that they need to ban naughty words but it is causing problems for great names because it *happens* to contain a bad combo/word (ex: Buttercup). Perhaps some nice, calm well-thought out letters will help Ganz to invest the funds into a better word filter system. While you are writing to Ganz, go ahead and add a little nice comment about wanting one to two additional columns (3-4 total) for the naming room, as well as additional word choices like every WShop/Curio shop theme and Color choices because more options would be AWESOME and make WW more enjoyable!

FILTER REVISION HISTORY
Thu-09/04/2008: WW revised their adoption naming filter.
Oddly, the new banned letter combos are not what one would expect (i.e., they are not curse words). ONLY pets that are adopted AFTER 09/04/2008, will be affected by the new filter. Fortunately, all pets that were adopted before the new filter get to keep their name! Some WW reps say "it is a glitch and will be fixed"; other WW reps say that it "was a liability issue, was done intentionally and will never be changed". Only time will tell what is correct. If we have a list, we will know what to avoid when thinking of the "perfect pet name". So, here is a thread to start such a list!
Wed-10/01/2008: WW revised their adoption naming filter again!
Great news! Someone at Ganz realized that they had gone "overboard" with their WW filters. The three most unpopular bannings are now allowed ("LA", "TO" and "GO")!! For those Mamas/Moms out there, you'll be happy to know that you are no longer a bad word as "Mama" is now OK! On another note, "DU" is now allowed; however, "DUC" is banned so you still cannot name your pet "Ducky" as many members wanted.
Please READ the "ALLOWED AGAIN" section to see if your your beloved name is now accepted by Ms. Birdy! It is below the bannings that remain.
Thur-10/30/2008: WW revised their adoption naming filter, yet again.
Today's date is 11/01/08. I spoke with a CSR rep on 10/31/08 and she told me that they revised their naming filter again. (I was asking about improving it.) She read part of a note to me that she had received. I checked every known banning and none of them were now allowed. I also checked those that were unbanned and they are still allowed. Since she was reading something that she received, they must have done something. I'm guessing that we'll be finding some new banned names/combos. Not sure if its a coincidence or not but three were discovered in the past two days.

NOTES
(1)... Pets adopted BEFORE 09/04/2008 were NOT affected. So if you have a pet that you adopted BEFORE 09/04/2008 and it contained one of the banned combos, the name worked BEFORE 09/04/2008 but will NOT work now. (No need to post how a banned combo/name worked for you when you adopted it BEFORE 09/04/2008 . Now, if you adopted your pet TODAY and you used one of these combos/names, please do tell us!)
(2)... Pets adopted BETWEEN 09/04/2008 and 10/01/2008 were even more restricitve. They unbanned 14 combos on Oct 1st. Please check out the ALLOWED AGAIN section to see if your pets' name will now work!
(3)... After the banned letters, you'll see -------->"info" for known bannings. If you think of any, I can add after you share it. A lot of these have different pronunciations so this won't be perfect and won't work for everything so I (and a few other members) will still be happy to answer you individually.
(4)... Several members have suggested using zero (0) for "o", one (1) for "L" and capital I for "L".

THANK YOU/ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
(1)... Thanks, Nikee, for your idea to put the variations of spellings on the first post!
(2)... Thanks, BASMAT, for your help in getting additional variations of spellings and MUCH more! You've been a lot of help!!
(3)... Thanks, Yoshi, for your information on popular names!
(4)... Though she doesn't know it, Cutiebug343 helped me realize that this post was a little disorganized. Thanks, Cutiebug343, because now the post is divided into sections and easier to follow!
(5)... Thanks to Emmlag96, Kaileysmommy, and MaxMacGyver for being the first to report the unbanning of "La" and "Go" on October 1st.
(6)... Thank YOU Peachfizz55 for helping me to realize that I left one of the newly UNBANNED combos (KOT) in the banned section!
(7)... THANK YOU to everyone who has helped other members and given any suggestions. Unfortunately, I cannot name each of you but you know who you are!!
(8 )... THANK YOU to everyone who posted their banned name that contained previously unknown banned letter combos. Without your posts, this thread would be pretty empty .

TESTING YOUR NAME WHEN MS. BIRDY SAYS IT IS NOT ALLOWED
This might be a bit complicated so feel free to ask for help OR just skip it! Here's how:
STEP 1: Suppose you have chosen "Draculo" for your new Bat. Ms. Birdy says, "NO WAY!". Remove one letter at a time until she says, "Enter Your Pet's Secret Code". In this case, start removing on the end of the word. (This is where I usually start bc it is easier to just hit the back button.)
DRACULO ... Not Allowed
DRACUL ... Not Allowed
DRACU ... "Enter Your Pets Secret Code"
you just discovered that the "L" is required for the banning.
STEP 2: what you do not know is if any letters AFTER the "L" will still cause a ban. The way to find out is to use the end of the name as the entire name and delete all the letters before the "L". In this case, you want to use "Lo" as a name. But there's a problem bc 3 letters are required. It does not matter what additional letter you pick. Let's use "B".
LOB ... "Enter Yor Pet's Secret Code"
now you know that "LO" are okay.
((as an aside: If "LOB" was not allowed, you would need to try a different letter to ensure that it was not the additional letter that caused the problem. EX: You would change LOB to LOR. If "Lor" was not accepted, then you would have discovered that "LO" is banned. If "Lor" was accepted, then you would have discovered "LOB" is banned. Either way, your work would not be done because you have not checked all the letters in the name, yet. Rememer the first part of the name, "Dracu"?? Again, "LO" is not really banned, it was just an example. Now back to the guide...))
STEP 3: At the end of STEP 1, you realized that the banned combo must include the "L". It's time to begin removing letters from the front end and remove all the letters that are accepted after the letter that you KNOW is included in the banning. In this case, you use the "L" and have only one letter to remove, the "O". You will systematically remove one letter at a time until you hear "Enter Your Pet's Secret Code".
DRACUL ... Not Allowed
RACUL ... Not Allowed
ACUL ... Not Allowed
CUL ... Not Allowed
ULO ... "Enter Your Pet's Secret Code". (note... did not have enough letters so I put the "O" back in place, since I eliminated it as a banning in STEP 2.)
you have discovered that the "C" is required for the ban.
STEP 4: now you know that both the "C" and "L" are required so you can conclude it is "CUL". HOWEVER--I like to double check. So, I do a little bit of repeating. Original name: DRACULO.
CUL ... Not Allowed
--->Using CUL as your starting point, remove the first letter that you KNOW must be part of the ban, "C". Remember, you need three letters so add "O" after the L. "O" was chosen bc it is the letter immediately after "L" in Draculo.
ULO .. "Enter Your Pet's Secret Code"
--->Again using CUL as your starting point, remove the last letter that you KNOW must be part of ban, "L". Remember, you need three letters so add "A" before the C. "A" was chosen bc it is the letter immediately before "C" in Draculo.
ACU ... "Enter Your Pet's Secret Code"
this confirms that "CUL" is the problem. Fortunately, C sounds just like K so you can change your spelling to Drakulo! The bonus: Drakulo looks cooler than Draculo.
