I think that is a great idea. I volunteer at my church with a special needs boy and know that he wouldnt be able to play on webkinz 'cause of his disabilities. It would be wonderful if Ganz took your thought into consideration __________________ That fire you ignited

It would be wonderful if Ganz took your thought into consideration I think the site is very instructional. I don't know if Ganz would be inclined to distribute Webkinz or not, but I'm sure if we all saved our bonuses where we get a chance for freebie webkinz and helped the people around us we could take care of it. (My hallmark store gives us a punch card buy 10 get one free) When I get a get one free chance, I gave. Walgreens here sometimes has a buy one get one free.. Again a good chance to help without even paying. Some states in America (not sure where you are) are giving free laptops to low-income kids (I'm sure special needs too), so that would be something to help them have "safe" fun on the internet and learn at the same time.... Just my thoughts... | | | 01-10-2009, 01:12 PM | #133 | Dreams of Chicken Gift Guru Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 13,397 | Re: Special Needs Kids and Webkinz I am so glad that you are thinking of special needs kids! I work at church with special needs kids
(with my little sis Maltlvr5),I think they would benefit and have some good fun from something like that. I think that they would enjoy a webkinz site geared tward them. Rep! on my site i am putting up a topic just for this | | | 01-10-2009, 08:51 PM | #134 | hy wait to volunteer Gift Guru Join Date: Oct 2008 Posts: 10,187 | Re: Special Needs Kids and Webkinz Originally Posted by GDRoxUrButtOff Hey.

Im autistic (i think), but if i am, i dont have that much as other kids do.
I also have ADD. First it was ADHD, but now im diagnosed with ADD. Im not sure what it stands for, but my friend has it too and we both get angry sometimes really easily but usually we are fine.
I have also been diagnosed with Terettes but i dont twitch (although I do blink alot)
I have OCD but i know the kids who pick on me probally do too. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE IT.
In all, I have very good grades because i try all I can. With all of these disabilities, I am very lucky to get the grades I'm getting. I am not in Special Education.
Again, this thread means alot. And its good to know how people understand how I feel. But its not good because some kids pick on me if they know i have these deseases but I ignore them or tell them to back off. If you get made fun of because of that, Tell an adult or do what I said.
GDRoxUrButtOff Hello, welcome aboard! It is great that you have stopped by. I hate to think that people would pick on you for any reason. You are welcome here anytime! What are your favourite things to do on Webkinz World?

I was so thrilled by seeing my kids using the computer to log themselves in, learning the concept of if you don't have the money you can't buy xyz, my daughter organizing and decorating her "house" , naming and caring for their pets. I think it is wonderful. I liked it so much that I started buying Webkinz for kids in famillies I knew that had kids with special needs to help them. I was disappointed when the E-store showed up, but since it is not directly part of the Webkinz "environment" I'm not entirely upset about it. Hi! My son has PDD NOS but he also has strabismus so I understand about the low vision. He patches one of his eye to try to strengthen it. Fortunately he does not have any vision issues on Webkinz World. Webkinz World is a great learning tool. We often talk about the money spending issue. Although my son still overspends with a lot of repetition eventually it will start to sink in. That is a great thing you are doing, giving Webkinz to other children with special needs. What a wonderful and thoughtful idea.

He could have his own Webkinz and someone else could go through the activities with him and explain how things work. Sometime my son enjoys sitting back while I play a game and add a funny narration to what I am doing.

I am a normal kid I enjoy Webkinz myself when I am stressed. There is nothing like a good game of pizza parlour to take your mind off something for a while. __________________ Click Above to Visit my GE | | | 01-11-2009, 03:19 PM | #139 | Guest | Re: Special Needs Kids and Webkinz That is such a good idea!
