monkeybob, a scramble is the button you hit in the EB game that mixes up all the letters on your board. Maybe it's called a shuffle, I don't remember. Either way, it does the same thing. It just mixes the letters up.
After several tries, I finally beat the game and won the trophy!!! YAY!!!! One more for my collection!!! I sure wish you could win more than one trophy though, because they look pretty cool!
Anyway, here are some tips that helped me win the game.
1. Try to make words that are a least five letter long. (It helps you pass levels faster on top of the fact that there is less of a chance of making a cracked tile.)
2. The number in the upper left-hand corner of a cracked tile is the number of letters you need in to have in the word in order to get rid of the cracked tile. So, if there is a 4 in the corner and you have a cracked letter E, you need to use the E in a four letter word to get rid of it. (I'm sure most of you figured that out on your own, but I didn't realize it until last night, so I'm posting it anyway, lol.)
3. There is no limit to the number of scrambles you can use, and they can really save you if you get a cracked letter near the bottom and have no options.
4. If at first you don't suceed, try, try again! To me it seemed that some of my games didn't last as long because the letters just were in all the wrong places. So for anyone who is still trying to win it, don't give up!

Congrats! O, I have a tip: Meaningless words! Some will work, some won't! As long as it isn't this: wdof but maybe this: wof. And you have to do more than 2 letters!
