Default *Approved*Bugsy and Cat Friends ~ Part Three - Lost in Space

Haven't read the first part of the story? Well here are the links to part one:
*Approved* Bugsy and Cat Friends ~ Part One - Bugsy and Dex Dangerous
and part two:
*Approved* Bugsy and Cat Friends ~ Part Two - Blast Off with Dex Dangerous

Bugsy gasped. “You don’t know where we are!” Bugsy repeated exasperated. “That’s right and stop looking at me like that!” Dex Dangerous said, seeming rather annoyed. If Dex Dangerous doesn’t even know where we are, than we must be far from home . . . very far from home, Bugsy thought. “Well, I am going to see if Louis has any clue to where we are,” Dex said. “Louis?” Bugsy asked, raising his eyebrows. “That beagle you saw earlier, that’s Louis. He is in charge of this mission.” Dex Dangerous explained. In a loud voice, Dex spoke into a recorder, “Louis, we are lost. We need your help! Do you read me?” A couple minutes later, Louis appeared on the screen. “Yes, Dex? You’re not playing with me, are you?” Louis said suspiciously. “No, no, no! We really need your help! Can you please check our progress on the map? It should say where we are,” Dex replied. Louis nodded; suddenly his expression seemed very serious. It only took a few seconds before Louis was back on the screen. Now, his expression was very worried as he said, “You’re off the chart; not on the map anymore. I can’t track you down!” The screen began to waver, turning into black wavy lines, and then Louis’s next words began to crackle so that neither Bugsy nor Dex Dangerous could make out what he was saying. The screen turned black. “We’ve lost connection. I guess this means will have to find our way back on our own, slim chance. Plus, our food supply is low. We only meant the journey to be only a couple days. If we’re lucky, it could take months,” Dex Dangerous growled with defeat. He slumped in his seat, staring off into space . . . literally! The sight of mighty, fearless Dex Dangerous in defeats terrified Bugsy. “We can’t give up!” Bugsy said stubbornly, “There must be a planet nearby that we can land on!” “Aw, well now wouldn’t that be a miracle,” Dex mumbled and then yawned. His pointy teeth made me shrink as he stretched. “I am going to take a nap; I haven’t had any sleep in ages. Oh yes . . . and tell me if you see a planet floating around by chance,” he said, chuckling tiredly. At these words, Dex Dangerous closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber. Bugsy didn’t lose hope. He searched the galaxy for a sign that they really would have a chance of survival, but nothing showed.

Days passed, and still the food supply got lower and lower. Dex Dangerous was combing his fur with long strokes while Bugsy was pacing back and forth across the tiny room. Both of them were trying their best to ignore their tummies growling angrily. Bugsy stopped at the control panel and happened to see an especially dark dot in the distance against the midnight sky. “What’s that?” he asked Dex eagerly. Dex shifted his position so he could see what Bugsy was talking about. Dex Dangerous gasped. You, the reader, are probably already jumping to the conclusion that this black spot is a planet. Well, this is what Dex Dangerous said, “It’s . . . it’s a black hole!”

Bugsy’s eyes widened with fear. “We have to turn the ship around!” Bugsy said desperately. “We are already too close! The engine is useless against this gigantic vacuum cleaner! It will vacuum us up . . . and then we will be doomed!” Dex Dangerous replied. The fear clearly seen in his eyes was something Bugsy would never forget.
