Default Re: WW Math Problems

That is a bit annoying. Me myself, aren't too good at math. I dislike doing the problems, and I agree with you about the questions about WW, b1uski3sxox does have a point though.

Here's your answer!

'Skill testing questions (or STQ) are a legal requirement attached to many contest in Canada.
The most common form an arithmetic exercise. A mathematical STQ must contain at least three operations to actually be "skill testing"; for example, a sample question is "(2 × 4) + (10 × 3)" (Answer: 3. For contests held in other countries but open to Canadians, a STQ must be asked of any potential Canadian winner.'

I agree. I like your idea about the Webkinz characters. Here I go, I love doing/asking for examples.

*What color is Wacky Zingoz?
*Who is the owner of the Curio Shop?
*Where do you go in Webkinz to play games?
*Where can you buy food for your pet?
*What color is the Webkinz pig?

Easy stuff like that would be easier for smaller kids.

I always wondered why they did that to all of the children... Bluski, that circled part of the image makes more sense. I didn't really pay close attention to it. And Zooz, that's a good piece of factual info.

I agree that the contests are aimed at higher aged children to adults, but most younger aged children/ disabled people wouldn't 1. know about the contest, 2. care that much about the contest, and 3. understand the contest.

If the child can't understand the math problem, chances are, they won't be able to read the contest, or understand what it really is.

Default Re: WW Math Problems

Younger children could always ask a parent or older sibling to tell them the answer and people who are bad at math could use a calculator or look it up on the internet, but I can see how that would be annoying if you couldn't figure it out.
