| | Webkinz Contests Rant!
Ok, so I'm browsing around on the Webkinz News site hoping to see if they've chosen the winners of the springtime chick contests. Well, winners in the yellow and blue categories have been posted, and I congratulate you on your new pet
if you have won.
That being said, I begin my rant--
Who chooses the winners for these contests, anyway?!? It clearly stated in the rules that proper grammar (spelling, punctuation, capitalization, etc) would be one of the deciding criteria. The contest also asked why you found each chick to be the most adorable. A few of the winning entries answered the question and wrote well using proper grammar. However, a few of the winning entries had multiple errors in grammar, and some sounded like they were begging Ganz for a pet, not answering the question asked. So, is there really any point in entering these contests? I mean, I'm an adult and former English major/teacher. I don't think that you should say that proper grammar is to be used to determine the winner and then have winners that do not use it. If so, they should say the contest is based on CONTENT only.
At this time, they still have not announced the winners of the purple chick yet, so maybe they will be harsher on those entries since it's a "Deluxe" item. One can wish, anyway.
Sigh...I guess I'm done now.
