CC#36: UNSUCCESSFUL: 88% of 58,500,000 points in Dex Dangerous & the Lunar Lugbots 27-28Nov2010 [Upd Mon 12am] - Funny, the bar didn't change in the last hour on any of our screens. Hmmmm.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone in US... Remember: Game is placed in order in Arcade under L for Lunar ================================== The comments below have the most recent on top. The Progress History is near the end of this post.
This week I have included an ideal steady rate chart; I hope to create a separate thread to explain these posts [in next week or so] and show the pattern of goals/games and success/failure, and will move this chart there in the future, with the link in these weekly threads.
Please share your predictions, hopes, progress, challenges, hints. ================================== Update 9: Mon 12am Really oddly, the bar on the CC screen did NOT change in the last hour on any of the screens we had up.
[Yes, I do mean logging in, or doing something else & going back...]
Oh well, valiant effort everyone. Hopefully next week will be better. ================================== Update 8: Sun 11pm Funny thing is, we covered more ground yesterday [47%] than it appears we will today. Very unusual.
We are currently running at a much better pace [4%/hr] than the entire rest of the weekend. Too bad it didn't start a few hours earlier. It is still possible, especially if there is any lag in the CC page, but not very likely. As Maxwell Smart would say, we missed it by THAT much. ================================== Update 7: Sun 8pm If you are just checking in, please help the cause.
On a normal weekend, I think this would not be such a rush, but with everyone shopping and traveling....
It still can be done, but we ALL need to do some more. ================================== Update 6: Sun 4pm This can be done, please help the cause.
My updates will be a while now due to evening obligations, but I will be back. ================================== Update 5: Sun 2pm This is still doable, but we need some serious effort to bring the % up.
I got my high score on an acct last night - 2 levels after the one where the giant "monkey heads" appear, by using boarderlander's method of positioning on the goal. One of my problems is my tall-man finger keeps wanting to push the right mouse button, which brings up the little list and I have to click out of the window & back in to clear it, losing time and damaging the moon more than otherwise. ================================== Update 4: Sun midnight We need a bit better pace for Sunday. ================================== Update 3: Sat noon Can you commit to complete one of the challenges posted in the titles? ================================== Update 2: Sat 2am
First progress appears. A steady rate over 48hrs is 2.1%, so we're behind. Anyone who played arcade games in the 70/80s period, or have a spouse who did, may find this similar to a space game back then.
Can you commit to complete one of the challenges posted in the titles? ================================== Update 1: Friday Points announced. ===================================== Original: Thurs
Ugh, it's Dex time again. I know I get better the more I play, but not a favorite. I hope they set lower sights this time. We'll be lasering those bots in hopes of getting the Cabana Widescreen TV. How many will sell it back if we win?
Points aren't listed yet.
Any insights you'd care to share, or some cheerleading?
Good luck all!

11:59pm - 88% oddly reflecting no change in the last hour.
If we worked at a steady rate from start to finish, the pace would be just under 2.1%/hr [100%/48hrs], and our milestones to see if we were at least keeping pace to finish successfully would be: Sat: 12am: 0% 1am: 2.1% 2am: 4.2% 3am: 6.3% 4am: 8.3% 5am: 10.4% 6am: 12.5% 9am: 19.8% 12pm: 25% 3pm: 31.3% 6pm: 37.5% 9pm: 43.8% Sun: 12am: 50% add Sat % for same hour to 50% for rest of day. 12pm: 75% 6pm: 87.5% 11:59pm: 100%
Obviously, this is just an ideal [people do sleep], but can help us see if it is worthwhile to continue [if we are only at 24% at 6pm on Sunday, it is obviously a lost cause; but if we are at 80% we can make it with some concentrated effort].
Re: CC#36: 24% of 58,500,000 points in Dex Dangerous & the Lunar Lugbots 27-28Nov2010 [Upd Sat 2pm] - Will you commit to 1 challenge? Noon challenge: 8 games by 3pm; Good recent progress, keep those missiles flying
Challenge met for 2 accounts & about 38,000 pts added.
Nice surge, hope we finish early.
I minimize shots by placing pointer on object & moving after 1-2 shots
(# depends on object) & only go after "asteroids" if nothing on page
unless aiming for moon.
Start is too slow, and I would rather see Tempest, which is what I think
you were referring to.
Re: CC#36: Code Orange (losing pace again) : 48% of 58,500,000 points in Dex Dangerous & the Lunar Lugbots 27-28Nov2010 [Upd Sun 4am] - Will you commit to 1 challenge? Overnight challenge: 7 games by 7am - Keep those missiles flying
I do not understand one thing in this post, what are you talking about?
Re: CC#36: Code Red (calling all to game) : 60% of 58,500,000 points in Dex Dangerous & the Lunar Lugbots 27-28Nov2010 [Upd Sun 1pm] - Will you commit to 1 challenge? Noon challenge: 10 games by 3pm - Keep those missiles flying
Your question is way too broad, you need to give more information:
To start: 1. Do you know about the Communal Contests? 2. Do you participate in them? 3. Do you try to follow our progress on the CC page? [Some people cannot see it after the first time they go to the page. This thread helps them know where we stand.] 4. Have you looked at these posts each week?
Re: CC#36: Code Red (S.O.S.) : 82% of 58,500,000 points in Dex Dangerous & the Lunar Lugbots 27-28Nov2010 [Upd Sun 9pm] - Will you commit to 1 challenge? Evening challenge: 10 games by 10pm - Keep those missiles flying
I'm trying but this is not my favorite game. I can't seem to get past level five and score around 1400. I think this will be a tough week to make it.
