Default "one pet trash is another's treasure"

Tonight, in the trading room, it reminded me of the saying that was on the series 2 trading card:

ONE PET'S TRASH, ANOTHER PET'S TREASURE

---------- fluffrnuttr added 65 Minutes and 11 Seconds later ----------

ooops, I didn't realize it posted when I wasn't done with it. Sorry. I had tried to delete it, and I think it actually posted while I was typing and disappeared. I just found this now during "searching for my posts".

Ok, what I had tried to say, only to originally have my post disappear when I was typing it, then try to find it, then I found it, then it was after midnight....(and on and on the story goes).....

I realize people will give different values and worth to the same items. Well, in the trading room, it really made me wonder just how people are getting their ideas for what things are worth?

When you are telling me you want exclusives and are offerering me FOOD, then I say, NO, then when I say BY, you put up an exclusive, obviously you have something of similar value.

Now, say it is the POTM wall ribbon. While the w-shops lists it as a sell price as only a few dollars, I realize that it is something worth more, since you cannot buy them, and you have to win it on the one day of the month you may have a chance. BUT, is it the same value as a SUPER BED? A BOWLING ALLEY? OR, even, 2 super beds and a bowling alley? I think not.

If it is, then I think the WIGEV will need to be readjusted.

I agree. It's not the same value if someone puts up a wall ribbon for a superbed & rares. It's really hard to explain in KinzChat PLUS so I just put up not-so-valuble items but still valuble. That way, you can't really get scammed or got tricked on some other person.

I guess I should have added.....see, I was trying to trade for the POTM wall ribbon. I was willing to give them somethings for it. BUT, not my bowling alley, a super bed, and a 15 token value exclusive. Every time I took ANY of them down, they would take down the POTM wall ribbon and put up a piece of food. hmmm

The other person had the wall ribbon and wanted to trade ONLY that for my bowling alley. I said no, do you have anything else. They put up a few other nice items, I was fine with that. I will trade 2 exclusives for the bowling alley with the ribbon....since they were the lower exclusive, not like the 22 token ones, but, more like the 10 token ones.

Well, as soon as it was ready to go, they took down EVERYTHING but the wall ribbon and wanted MORE as well. ummm, no.

That is what I meant when I was trying to say about the POTM and the super bed values. (there was also someone with a super bed thing going on....that was a long story.)

Hmmm.... I think they were trying to make an un-fair trade or scam. Hope it doesn't happen again!

Yes. The bowling alley in itself is an example of an item that is worth a lot more. Not only do you have to spend hours working up the Kinz Cash or spending actual money and adopting pets so you can afford it, it far outweighs the ribbon which a lot of people win once a month. I don't think a person is really serious when they offer up only food for an exclusive item, I mean, they shouldn't really believe someone will actually trade that. As far as specific items go, I would be willing to trade some more expensive items I didn't like as much (the Greasy Grill for example) for an item of lesser value that I really wanted, for example anything of the Egyptian Theme. I wanted to trade the Greasy Grill and the Hot Air Balloon for the Vanity Chair, but the one person I was trading with was not interested. Most of the time I find the trade room a little tiresome as it takes a long time to find someone with something you want where you have something that they would be interested in and then come up with what's considered a fair trade.

Anycase, good luck
