The first Webkinz World Communical Contest is now over.  As Webkinz Insider reported earlier HERE, Ganz has released the following news statement regarding this contest:

"Looks like we made our first communical contest too difficult. Our formula was clearly off.  We'll make our next week's challenge easier."

Members throughout our forum have posted it is unfortunate that players have not won this week's prize of 500kc despite Ganz's announcement that their "formula was clearly off."

The opportunity to vote for next weekend's contest is now available.  Vote for next week's prize, the wshop item of your choice, from the list above.

We at Webkinz Insider will keep you posted will the latest news of the upcoming communal contest.  Thank you to WI member florida for the above screen shot from her account.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Thank you! I wish it would have worked! It would hae been fun to get that score together!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Thanks for the info. However, I'm disappointed with these prizes so I won't participate this week. Everything is Wshop; I don't get it.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Just like the song....so close, yet so far away.....

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Woke up in the middle of the night and just had to check to see if Ganz did the right thing....not only do I see they did not reward us for THEIR mistake, the prizes for next week are even worse. Wake up Ganz! (Sorry for my rant, I hated the game yet played it all weekend)

Yeah I had hoped they were going to reward us for their mistake too. It's not like we didn't still participate. Not a very good way to inspire people to continue.

OMG is anyone even willing to compete for the lame list of items they offered for next week? I think I;ll sit this one out unless they start offering some real prizes. Just my opinion.

PS I already have like 7 sweet stuff sofa's from the Wheel of WOW.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I agree, it is no way worth all the time and effort for prizes like this. I played goobers lab all weekend i am talking like 6 hours a day or more and they couldn't give us a measly 500 bucks cause they messed up. I can see at this rate it's going to be like the vacation thing after everyone saw what there is to do no one goes back. Great idea awful prizes and unrealistic goals. If I want some wshop stuff thats been there for sale for forever I'll use a coupon and buy it.

Better yet they can keep their junk prizes and I'll keep my sanity and enjoy the rest of ww. I am so annoyed I put all that effort into nothing and I know you all must feel that way too. I think I'm done with this activity.

I thought too that seeing as Ganz had messed up they would at least reward everyone anyway that participated. I myself scored over 300,000 this weekend and my daughter added about 70,000 to the tally. (Probably in the minority, but we both love this game). I agree also, that it is not a good start to the communal contest if they want people to join in.

As for the items they are offering for the next "contest" I guess pick the one with the highest w-shop value and sell it - well, that's if one even gets to complete a communal contest Oh well it was not for lack of trying anyway. At least we built up our own nice stack of kinzcash whilst playing!!!!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I think I will pass on this week's contest. Maybe one day they will offer something more interesting. For all the effort we put in this weekend . . . well you all have already said it!

Looking forward to tomorrow's Deluxe Gift, and to my next prize at the park. That is enough for me right now

And if you look closely you will see that my sock monkey "Valley" in my avie is saying "Happy Saint Patrick's Day" to you.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Me and my friends all played Goober's Lab for hours, we tried really hard to contribute to the goal! It's sad we didn't make it oh well, I figured since it was the first one they hadn't decided what was really considered an acheivable goal. Maybe if there was more time to acheive it?
Still fun though I really like the concept! I can't wait until everyone is successful and everyone gets rewarded, that would be awesome!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Good idea, bad execution.

Like many, I was really behind this idea and excited for its possibilities. It's too bad it wasn't thought through more carefully, as now so many are disenchanted. I'd also hoped that since -- as Ganz itself said -- it was THEIR mistake, they would "do right" by those who logged so many hours trying to accomplish their admittedly impossible task. After all, the whole idea of this activity is to inspire communal spirit -- wouldn't it help if a kind gesture started with Ganz? Unfortunately, it seems that we have a community united in disappointment, rather than inspiration.

Looking at this week's vote choices, I don't understand the value of the prizes after seeing the kind effort that's needed to successfully complete the tasks. So it'll be interesting to see what this weekend's community effort is supposed to be. Almost certainly, very few people will throw themselves into it with the enthusiasm that they did this past contest.

I still like the idea of the communal effort; it really could be so great and help all of us develop a wonderful sense of team spirit. I just hope that this past weekend was an awful fluke and that future contests will be fun and inspiring. Here's hoping!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Shame on You Ganz
Another great lesson you've shown our children!
you admit your mistake, yet go nothing to make Amends!
I certainly agree with everyone else!
Your all Hype, yet no Show!
What and How are you going to make this up to all of us!
I can not sign "PEACE"

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Aw, nutter butters... so how far DID we get? Anyone have a screen cap of that?

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Wouldn't it be interesting to see the results of this week's survey. But once again they needed a different choice for the answer!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I posted a poll, http://www.webkinzinsider.com/forum/...u-pick-605375/ , about this round of prizes (like chmoneybags did last week) but something tells that most people won't be picking a prize this week!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

Oh well, it's a shame that everything new on webkinz is always full of problems or glitches. I agree with everyone else on the matter. I don't think I would waste my time for wshop items, just like i didnt waste my time for 500 kinzcash since i can get that quicker than playing goobers lab all day. But with that high of a bar set, I knew it was impossible. 2 days to get 6 billion points? It's good that Ganz wants to improve on the site and make more things to do, but I think they forget that it's kids that they are advertising to, but kids have school, homework, etc. They can't sit at a computer all day trying to achieve goals that seem to be geared towards adults who are diehard webkinz players. I think there should be a middle ground where everyone can play, pitch in, and enjoy, despite the age.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

This Communal Contest idea is turning out to be a total dud. I actually like the idea of everyone working together towards a common goal; however, lets be realistic. The fact that Ganz royally messed up the first week of the contest and yet had the audacity to tell everyone "Oops, you didn't meet the goal!" is a little ridiculous. Then, for the SECOND week of the contest, we're working for items we could just go and buy ourselves in the WShop. Seriously?? I mean, it's not like this costs them money to give away Kinz cash or some other prize.

Ganz continues to disappoint me more and more everyday.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I really like the concept however, after the fiasco of this past weekend I think we will pass the next.

I have no use for any of the prize items ~ in fact I have plenty of sweet stuff sofas off the wheel. Selling any of the items will not be worth the the hours it will take to achieve the goal and any of my garden harvests gets a bigger cash influx, too.

For those who do decide to try again, I hope Ganz makes the goal realistic this time. Good luck to you!

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I have a *age edited* daughter who spent hours playing this weekend. She couldn't usually get beyond level 5 but she pushed on, not for the prize but for the challenge. She will be crushed to see the Communal contest area saying we didn't make it. Come on Ganz, remember, this is a site for kids first off and second, w- shop prized are not going to spark an interest. These are virtual items, I think you can do better than this.

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I agree with everything that's been said. The mistake was theirs, not ours - we still were on playing the game! If not the full 500, at least something to keep people inspired. And those are REALLY lame prizes. Why not make the goal challenging yet somewhat more reasonable and then have people able to choose a lower cost item from the eShop? I know they don't want to lose money by giving away the big ticket items - but stuff like the charms, wallpaper, etc. would be good - especially for those who don't have $ to spend in the eShop. Or alternatively, some special line of items designed specifically for the Communal Contests - heck, they do that for every other promotion they run!

Is it just me or does it seem like, in their haste to unveil each great new idea, they don't take the time to debug all these technical issues? I know they need to have the next best thing one right after another in order to stay competitive, but wouldn't it be great if things WORKED the first time out? Or even the 2nd...

Re: Webkinz Communal Contest Unsucessful

I agree, they could make a new prize from pixels, something that only the workers will have. I had signed up on 8 accounts last week, I am only going to sign up on my main account this week, and see how it goes.
