Ganz Officially Retires Webkinz Weimaraner

webkinz cheatsThank you to our friends at Ameriwade for alerting us to the fact that Ganz has officially retired the Webkinz Weimaraner.  This retirement was made official on Friday, February 26th.  Reports indicate that Ganz has no more plushies for retailers to order, so whatever inventory is in stock at stores is all there is left.  If you've been looking to pick up one of these adorable pups, don't delay.

Why do they retire newer releases so early and keep the old ones going? Seems odd to me.

One theory that I heard some time ago was that Ganz retires some of their new pets because they are using up scrap material from other models. Once they run out of the scraps they retire the new pet. This seems to apply to pets like the Tiger Snake (the fabric is the same as the Alley Cat's). I am not sure for this pet though. I don't own it so I don't really know what the fabric is like.

I've got one for my daughter for Easter. I don't recognize the fabric from any other pet, though. I know it was a Hallmark store exclusive for a while.

I'm so glad Ameriwade is willing to share retirement info with us. Ganz had not update the "retired pets" part of the catalog in Webkinz World in a very long time.

I'm not liking Ganz right now...They are designing pets that look really childish and retiring pets before anyone can even get it.

Agreed. There are plenty of dogs as it is, and ganz was trying too hard to be different for it to look good.
