Maintenance Creates New POTM Glitch: System Awarding Duplicate Prizes


Many of our users who have all of the Pet of the Month exclusive items, except the carousel have discovered that after adopting their White Terriers, they are getting a duplicate of a POTM they already own instead of the new POTM item.
 
According to information on the Webkinz World login under Bulletinz and then Questions about Pet of the Month? Read This... it states this:
 
1)What do you get for adopting a Pet of the Month?
When you finish adopting your Pet of the Month, and you go to your pet's room, you will receive a Loot Bag. Click on the Loot Bag and it will open to reveal your prizes! You will receive:
  1. One random*** Pet of the Month Item not available anywhere else!
  2. One of our latest special recipe foods. Many of these recipes are still undiscovered!
  3. A W-Shop Coupon to use however you'd like
  4. Between 500 and 1000 KinzCash as a special bonus!
 
Note: If you adopt multiple pets at the same time, you MUST select each pet from the My Pets page to get their Loot Bag.
 
***SPECIAL NEWS FOR COLLECTORS: If you adopt multiple Pet of the Month pets on the same account, you will NOT receive duplicates! We will look at your account, find an item you don't have, and award it to you! Note that if you sell or trade an item, you won't have it anymore, so you may get it again. Also, if you have all of items, you will of course get a duplicate.
 
We advise all players planning on adopting a White Terrier
this month to hold off until this glitch has been fixed.

I was lucky. I adopted my terrier early in the month and I got a Carousel. I was missing the Carousel and the Lamp.

I adopted the POTM white terrier this afternoon and received the Lurking Lagoon which is the one I got on my very first POTM adoption 2 years ago. I was so hoping for the carousel.

Hi sl, if you have all of the POTMs on that specific account, everything other than the carousel, then you should have received it. If you have traded or sold your lagoon and it is not currently on that account, then the system would award you that or any other random POTM that you don't have. Sorry, CJ

I hope they fix this really soon for everyone. For those that got a "repeat" POTM item, please call Ganz (1-866-webkinz) and see if they can switch it for you. You might need to talk to a supervisor. (If you are a child, then a parent will need to call for you).

Oh, that's a shame. I hope Ganz can fix it for those who already got duplicates. I know how hard it is to collect and keep those POTM's that you don't really need, just to be sure you won't get them repeatedly. Good luck to everyone, and thank you Dixiecup for giving us this head's-up.

Wow. I have been saving up to buy a White Terrier. That really stinks. Well, I'll keep checking here to make sure I adopt a White Terrier when it is safe to. :wt:

I just contacted Ganz because I adopted 2 POTM pets and only received one POTM loot bag, they refused to give me the POTM loot bag for the second pet because they said I incorrectly adopted it . The representative told me I had to adopt 1 pet, go to the room accept the prize, then log out and log back in and then adopt the second pet in order to be eligible for the second prize. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement I've adopted multiple pets many times and never had a problem but the Rep said it's their policy that they will not award the prize to me. Remind me again why I like this???

I am sorry you were treated badly. You should call again and ask to talk to a supervisor. If you look at the first post of this thread it reads "Note: If you adopt multiple pets at the same time, you MUST select each pet from the My Pets page to get their Loot Bag". You did nothing wrong and there aren't any written instructions anywhere that say you have to go to your room before adopting the second one (if this is their policy, then ask where it is written for you to see and follow). Their system/programming isn't working properly (switching pets and then going to the second POTM's room should trigger the POTM loot bag for the second pet--but it usually doesn't work). If you don't get your POTM items by talking to a supervisor, I would strongly suggest that you file a better business bureau complaint and then one of the more knowledgeable reps will get in touch with you.
