HOLIDAY NEWS: Menorahs Due to Light Up for Hanukkah

As many of you know, the holiday of Hanukkah is going to begin at sundown on Friday night (December 11th).  Families of Jewish faith all over the world will be lighting Menorahs each night this week in celebration of the eight night long holiday.  In Webkinz World, many of our furry friends will be celebrating too.  
 
If you have purchased a Menorah from the wShop and placed it in your room, on Friday night you should notice two of the candles lit with a flickering flame (as shown in the picture above from last year).  Each night, another candle will be lit, until the Menorah is full.  This is the one and only time of the year these virtual items will be animated.  And, for those of you who are wondering why two candles are lit on the first night, the center candle is used to light the other candles and does not represent one of the eight nights.

Thank you so much for mentioning this! I don't celebrate Hanakkah, but I am so glad that Ganz offers these items as an option for those who do!

Happy Hanukkah! We light the candles at our house but that's all we to celebrate it, beacuse my dad works for the F.O.I. (Friends Of Israel). Any of you know the story behind why on Hanukkah people light the candles?

How wonderfull! I think it is especially cool that the Menorah doesn't animate any other time of year - and of course we wouldn't have known about this without WI! I'm going to put the Menorah in my room this evening and contemplate the miracle.

This is going to be really neat! Seeing the menorah's light up! Really Cool! ! I also wonder if anything special will happen to the Christmas trees.

THANK YOU for reminding us about our webbie's menorahs!

I for one, am just bursting here because in our home, it is MY year (we rotate) to light the shamash and recite the first night's prayer in Hebrew to celebrate the miracle of the oil!! I am even more excited to give the first night's gifts - alarm clocks for each of our kiddos! LOVE those 'gifts with purpose' And I can print their gifts because none of them are on WI
Our oDD is making fried latkes, yDD has her dreidel out for us to play and DS purchased gelt for all with his own $$!!!
Tomorrow afternoon we are chopping down our Christmas tree and decorating it. That I simply am bursting over too!!!

P.S. for GANZ -we need a new Menorah in September next year because Hanukkah is DEC 2. THANK YOU
