Webkinz Creative Director Addresses Curio Shop Changes


Webkinz Insider was contacted by the Webkinz Creative Director this evening regarding the recent problems players have been having with the Curio Shop.  According to him "The logging-in-and-out randomness was a bug, not intended.  It should be fixed now.  Regular members will see the same 12 every time, and the Deluxe bonus items will only be available to Deluxe members."
 
As of the 10pm KT rare this evening (Wednesday) on American accounts, we were still getting reports from members that Arte was telling them they had "come at the right time" for a rare, but there was no rare in the Curio Shop.  Some were able to get the Egyptian Vase to show up after logging out of Webkinz World and back in again, but many were not.  Hopefully the Creative Director's statement means that the programming has been fixed, and we will see the results after this evening's maintenance.  
 
At this point, we are not certain how, when we ask Arte for the rare time, he will let us know what rare items will be available to everyone, and what rare items will only be available on Deluxe accounts.  We will continue working on this mystery and will bring you the latest information as it becomes available.  
 
UPDATE (Thursday morning):  We are hearing from our members that the "bug" has not been fixed.  Members with Asian accounts are reporting that Thursday's 12pm, 4pm, and 10pm rares showed up in the "Regular" section for some players and in the "Deluxe" section for other players.  Logging in and out is still getting the items to move around.  And, even if you have a regular account that doesn't show a Rare item, Arte is still saying he has a Rare item for sale.

I was able to get the vase, I thought it was in the Deluxe area, but found it in the regular spot. No problems, got the vase.

The only issue I had is that I was not able to tip Arte at all. Could not do it on any of my four accounts -- some Deluxe and some not. Did anyone else have that problem?

How do you ask Arte about the Rare items or do you just mean when he says if you came at a good time or not?

Thanks you for staying on top of this issue.
I had trouble with the 7pm rare not showing up regardless of multiple logins but I did find the Egyptian vase at 10pm.

I am a Deluxe member, but all I get are the exact same items on either the shopping button or the Deluxe button. It doesn't matter if I log out & i again. I also do not have the second half of the store at the W-store. What's up?

Got the earlier rare on a couple of our accounts..didn't try for the vase..but , only saw the chest on our deluxe...was this how it was??..was the medieval chest not available to members??..Just deluxe??..I know early this AM..on our Asian regular accounts...didn't see any rares at 10..but didn't log in/out and try again..That whole Curio Shop deal is still..a bit confusing!!! ( And yes, I have read the latest update) I guess it will eventually be explained to all of us non-computer literate people!!

I found on all my accounts if I had enough Kincash the rare item showed up on the regular and deluxe. If the account didn't have enough cash for the item, it did not show up. I thought this was something new Ganz was doing.

Arte will ONLY start telling you when the rare items are coming, or when he is having his sales if you purchase a TON of items from him. The more you purchase the closer you get to him telling you when they will be. BUT you can always find out here on WI when and what time the rare items are on just by checking the "curio shop" repot. The only thing being...the sale items Arte offers are usually the other rare items that are NOT related to any room decor. Those are the RARE ITEMS. Arte won't ALWAYS tell you when the sale items are on either no matter how much you purchase. I can go on every hour and check the curio shop and find some kind of rare flooring or wall paper...& so on.. It's usually the basketball flooring, or the football flooring...or maybe the wall papers. I wrote all this in a thread in tilted..."Always Check On Arte"!

Hope this helps...oh, it always helps to give Arte a tip once in a while in his green can on his desk to the left of the screen.

The same is happening to our two accounts. We are in the Asian zone. Maybe it will be fixed by tomorrow.

We have Deluxe membership on main account. I am seriously confused about what I saw tonight. I was hoping Ganz would fix some of the things that do not work properly (or do not work at all) before adding more new features that do not work properly (or do not work at all). Know what I mean?

I could not agree more. THANK YOU once again to for the help with the confusing topic bungled by WEBKINZ/GANZ. I know that they can test their updates better. After all they always have the 4 1/2 hours at night, every night!

As of this moring when I went into the curio shop and looked in both places for what was on sale i see the same items in both areas. It was like that yesterday too. I am a deluxe member so it has not been fixed yet.

it is great that they addressed the issue so quickly. that is a plus. now if it is fixed, that will even be a better thing for everyone.

i will be waiting to see how arte addresses telling everyone about the rares.

I hope they won't have the movie screen tv only on deluxe accounts. WW will be hearing complaints if they do. If anyone is close enough to tell them not to do it, tell them now.
