Users Missing Webkinz Deluxe Membership Gifts, Policy Explained!

Thanks to DavidMami, we have been able to confirm (via Ganz Customer Service representatives) that the case of the missing Deluxe Membership gifts is not a glitch or mistake made by Ganz.

While no doubt confusing, Webkinz World is configured to award Deluxe Members their Deluxe Membership Gift (for May, it will be the Racing Jacket) on the monthly anniversary of joining the Deluxe Membership program. For example, if you joined on April 5th, your Deluxe Membership Gift will appear on May 5th.

Due to the obvious confusion this will cause, Ganz is considering changing it so that all users receive their gifts on the 1st of each month!

Wow....thats not fair I hope they do fix it so everyone can get it on the first of each month
so I guess I have to wait for the 2nd then and by the way thanks for the info. I was going crazy

Thank you so very much for clearing that up. I was wondering when I logged into my two accounts this morning and there was no gift there. Now Mom and I are racking our brains trying to figure out which day we actually signed up. lol! lol! lol!

Thank you for clearing this up. I did not know if it was a glitch or not, because the sign in board still has an advertisement for Webkinz Day! I thought there might be fun things happening for the extravaganza, but I guess not. Bought several of the pets, but did not get anything special when I registered one of them this morning. I think I will wait for the other 2.

Thanks for all the great information I get from here, it is a great site.

Oh by the way you can sign on to your estore acct. and click on your manage acct. and then click on order history and you should see when you sign up hope it helps

Although i can understand why Ganz did this it really wasn't that great of an idea. the first would make it a lot simpler. But then you have the problem of the members who might sign up on the 30th and then get 2 boxes in 2 days.

I have seen a lot of people saying it would be unfair for those who signed up on like the 30th to get a box for that month and then get another box on the 1st of the next month. I have to kind of disagree though. I am one of those who was undecided until towards the end of the month. I finally made the decision to go ahead and get it so my kids could have the helmet and not miss out on that item. I was under the impression that the boxes were on the 1st of the month and if by signing up in April that was month 1 no matter what day it was. (does that make sense?)

I signed up at the end of the month fully knowing that it was just for the gift. We missed almost all the deluxe activitys in April. So basically I figured I paid for the first month even though I didn't get anything but the gift out of that first month. So if it had been month 1 no matter the day then it would not have been unfair to get another box a few days later in the second month. I still paid full price for the first month.

Since it is not like that though and it is based on the day we signed up I guess it doesn't matter anyways. lol The kids will still get their May gift they just have to wait until the end of the month for it. lol (that's unfair

It really would not matter if they got 2 in 2 days, because it is a 12 month membership, ( or 3 months, no more monthly option). I think the first of the month is the way to go.

Really, that is lame. You pay all that money for a membership and then they are going to sprinkle all the membership gifts throughout the month based on when you joined?

Wouldn't it just be easier to award them all on the first? I joined as soon as the came out with the membership or a day or two later... can't remember. I think I was waiting to see what people got out of it before shelling out the dough.

I wondered why I didn't have my gift. Thanks again, WI for explaining. Ganz, get with the program. For all the money we pay to keep your company rolling in the cash, is it really so hard to give us our little virtual present on the first of each month? Quit being so greedy!

Not only a confusion but if you join on the 31st, not all months have 31 days, and February only has 28 or 29, So what happens then?

Pretty much everybody who signed up would get an extra box, which is why they went the way they did. The gift being delivered on the first would only work out to the correct total if memberships were all set to last from the 1st to the last of the month. I can't see them willing to dish out extra boxes for every member who signs up. To keep it the way they have it all they need to do is explain at sign up that the monthly membership box is delivered on the monthly anniversary of the day you're signing up.

For example, my membership expires on April 2, 2010. I get 12 months of membership boxes, my 1st was on April 2, 2009 and my 12th will arrive on March 2, 2010. If they switched to giving them out on the 1st of each month, I'd get a 13th box in April 2010 right before my account expired. It's not in their best interest to switch to 1st of the month deliveries and I can see why it makes more sense to do it on the sign up anniversary.

I don't see Ganz being greedy in any sense of the word, it's actually really logical, but as usual they didn't explain themselves ahead of time.

Also, don't we get a wish token on our WW anniversary? That's based on our 1 year anniversary and varies by account from when we joined, this would be the same idea just monthly.

I was thinking this when I saw all of the people who had said they didn't get their May Deluxe boxes.

It is just like the Anniversary of when you joined, if you joined at the end of the month, you don't get your Gift Token until that day. I don't think Ganz was misleading at all. I fully expected to wait until that day of the month when I purchased my membership. I still get to particpate in all of the Deluxe activities, so I don't really have an issue with this. Besides, with ALL of the things that already go on the first of the month, this would be just another issue to have the computer 'hang' on.

You wouldn't get a 13th box if it was counted like April('09) was month #1, May #2, June #3.... March'10 would be month #12. Then gifts could still be given on the 1st and still not be any extras. That seems the easiest way to do it imo.

Of course when does Ganz do things the easiest way. lol

Thanks for the information. I signed up for the one month just to try it out. If they were going to give gift boxes to everyone on the 1st, it would mean that the people who only paid for one month would get 2 gift boxes and that wouldn't be fair to the people who actually paid for more months. In this case, I have to agree with Ganz.

Dont forget you get Estore points bonus updated every month.. This may be a mess!! By the way I joined on the 2nd.. And nothing in my Asain account.. It may show up tomorrow after the maintance..

I guess the thing to keep in mind, is that the subscription covers MORE than the monthly gift box. While it's less of an issue for ANNUAL members (and it seems like most of us are), consider this for for people who sign up for 3 months, they could:
Sign up on Jan 31, get the January gift, then the February, March and April Gifts on the first. When their subscription ends on April 30th, they can wait until MAY 31st to renew, not miss any of the gifts and go basically one month un-paid. While this may seem like a way of saving money/cheating the system, that is one whole month of extra Deluxe Hourly events missed out on.

i am glad that ganz is considering changing the policy they have SEEMED to set forth. as a monthly box is a monthly box regardless of when you purchased the membership. you are only getting one box that month regardless of when you purchased. so to have to wait till the ANNIVERSARY day of your membership is silly.
they really needed to be more clear in the membership area.
i am full pleased with the deluxe family membership..... i just hope ganz gets everyone on the same page.

I agree it is confusing. We bought our family membership on April 28th and were given the May gift box. After phoning GANZ and having them fix the error, we now find out we have to wait to receive our May gift box until the 28th. We are a bit concerned, what if they make that error again? Are we going to have to keep calling and having our account fixed every month. Wish they would just do everyone on the 1st of the month and be done with it.
