Webkinz Customers Wonder: Is it safe to adopt?

We here at Webkinz Insider have been flooded with questions this morning from members who want to know if it is safe to adopt a new Webkinz to their accounts or not. Ganz has not yet made an official statement regarding this problem, so the only thing we have to go on is the reports that come in from our members.  As of this morning, we are still getting reports of members being totally locked out of their accounts following new adoptions.  We are also getting a number of reports from members who were able to adopt new Webkinz to their accounts without any problems at all.  We have not been able to figure out why some accounts are affected by the glitch and others are not.  

 

Whatever you decide regarding new adoptions on your account, it is worth noting that Ganz Customer Service is closed for the weekend.  The office should re-open on Monday morning.  Telephone: 1-866-WEBKINZ * 1-866-932-5469

Someone just reported on Kinzguru that she was locked out of her account adopting a floral fox this morning. Unfortunately this prblem has NOT BEEN FIXED. We also had a few members adopt last night with the same results.

I was locked out On Wednesday, a tech had to go into my account and remove the pet. I won a Mystical Panda on Friday and tried again thinking it was fixed after the long down time...and LOCKED OUT AGAIN !!

I would wait to adopt as tempting as it may be. Fingers crossed this gets fixed on Monday!!

My brother and his friend adopted 3 pets total yesterday and everything went just fine.

In another thread I said that I am still locked out and have been since Friday. Last night I put in my user name and password and clicked "Adopt New Pet". What happened was I was taken to the adoption lady and she started asking for the codes, etc. Even though I am locked out of my account. I don't have another pet waiting to be adopted so I just exited.

Why doesn't Webkinz at least have a warning or whatever if so many are having problems?

I adopted a pet last weekend, the fire fawn, and I started getting locked out 3 days later, ganz needs to fix this problem, even if that means getting some people to work on weekend, but whatever!

your right, i hate searching through webkinz newz to see the problem, its stupid really. they should tell us whats going on instead of all of us trying to fid out our selves, i'm sure it was frustrating to wonder if it was my adoption or just webkinz world screwing up again. so befroe ganz screws up, i'm going to emil them the problem

I too thought the problem would be fixed by now and attempted to adopt a new pet this morning ... now I am locked out of my account. I wish they would close the adoption center for now!!! I think people would be patient about adopting a new pet. I would rather wait to adopt than be locked out!! I missed a rare I really wanted because of it!!! Very frustrating!!

I adopted a new pet last night (before i read any of this.) but everything's okay with my account. At first it frozen up and i had to x it out, but then i went and logged back in and everything was normal. Cept i've noticed all my pets hunger is at 0, and i usually keep my pets really well fed...glitch??

During the down time yesterday I went to my local Hallmark and discovered that they had gotten series four cards in..............Yeah! Anyway I got a mystery pet in one of the packs
(a skunk) and was able to adopt it no problem after webkinz came back yesterday afternoon.
I have two of the phoenix and several other birds and I have purchased a treetop room. The only problem my account seems to still have is that mypage says it is under maintenance.

I adopted 2 new Webkinz yesterday (I was going through withdrawals because of yesterdays server upgrade) and can log in to my account and then it says I cannot login to Webkinz right come back later. It is still doing it this morning. My 3 children adopted some yesterday also. 2 adopted 1 new Webkinz and 1 adopted 2 new ones. Does any one know what I should do? Should I call some at Ganz? Please let me know. Thanks to all of you for all the great information on this site!

I reallt wish I would've known that it wasn't safe before. I adopted a pet last night, with no problem, but then I adopted another one, today thinking it was safe, and it locked me out! Grrr!

I adopted my panda yesterday and everything went okay. But I think it has to do with how you go to get to the adoption center. I would make sure that you log into Webkinz World first and then use the things to do menu and then click adoption center. When I was locked out the first time on Friday I went to the adoption center straight from the log in menu, so I don't know if this has something to do with it or not. When I got locked out originally my friend logged in first and then went to the adoption center on Friday and did not get locked out. I went straight from the log in screen and did get locked out. I hope this helps.

im not sure if it is safe or not but the glitch gave me the gifts from my friends again that i had already opened so now i have double the stuff they gave me its kinda wierd but i think its awsome i got more presents.

I have adopted 2 pets on 1 account with no problems at all. I also adopted 1 pet on another account with no problems. (I adopted because I needed the money for the rare, lol)

I just adopted a webkinz bird yesterday and it worked fine. Now I have a tree top room. But the only problem I had yesterday is when I went on my friends account because we are swithing accounts so we can change each others rooms, all of her KC was gone. She only had 2,000 KC left and I got her like 1,9998 KC. I know that she did not go on her account and use the money because I changed her password and she does not know it because it's a compass #. But that was the only problem I have had so far. Today webkinz is not down. YAY!! YAY!!
