Skater Kat Skateboard Replica Coming to Webkinz eStore

Thank you to Webkinz Insider member home4bri for calling our attention to a brand new advertisement in Webkinz World.  Rumors have been swirling around the internet since Fall 2008 that Ganz was going to be releasing an eStore (non-KinzPostable) version of several retired items in Webkinz World.  We can now say for certain that, at least for one item, this is true.

 

The Skater Kat Skateboard was retired from Webkinz World in May 2007 when the Skater Kat Arcade game was removed.  The skateboard was the "trophy" a player would receive for completing al 16 levels of the game.  The skateboard is a vehicle that Webkinz can ride around on in their houses.

The Skater Kat Skateboard Replica will be available next Saturday, March 7. Replica items look like items that were once available in Webkinz World — but, like all eStore items, cannot be traded, sold or sent through KinzPost. This replica will be available for one day only, this year. Be sure to visit the Webkinz eStore on March 7 if you’re interested in picking up this replica item.

YAY!! I'm sooooo happy. We started webkinz the week before the game retired. We played a few times but never managed to reach the end and honestly we didn't try that hard but I regretfully wished I had played more. SO, we are going to see the board soon - yay yippee hoorrah!!!

Wow, I don't know what to think of this.
I mean, I know they aren't tradeable to others, but if they are sold in the e store, then doesn't that mean that they are just unretiring it? And what happens to the original trophys, Do they become non-postable as well?

EDIT: Oh, it's just a VERSION of it.
I'm hoping they change it around a little to make it look somewhat different.
And hopefully it doesn't cost a ton either.

Interesting! I may buy it... depends on the cost. $6 or higher is way too much for me... so hopefully it will be at a low cost!

HMM.... Not sure what to think about this. I know it is just a replica, but somehow maybe this might seem not fair to the people that worked so hard to have to earn there skater kat skateboard. Now for sure the value of this item will drop even though the item is not tradeable or able to be sent via kinz post. A lot of people will buy the item now and will have no need to have to trade their big valuable items for it anymore as we all know that the value of this item is pretty darn good and it takes a pretty good item to get somebody who worked so hard to earn these boards to trade them!! I guess we will just have to wait and see the outcome of what happens in trading with this after the release of it at the e store. I guess this probably means we will be seeing the other rumored items to be sold in e store there sometime in the future as well. We all know sometimes it is frustrating when trying to get them items via trading but that is also the fun of the trading too. If the items all show up in the e store that are long ago retired wonder what this will do concerning trading. Will people continue to trade as often as they do now or will they not since they know they just can wait and soon be able to buy it? I guess time will only tell!!

I agree, I wonder if it will effect the value of trading or if the items will be marked with something that indicates it's a replica. I've never had the high ticket retired items, or anything valuable enough to trade for them, so I'm kinda excited about the appearance of these items in the estore.

OHH i think this is great for people like me who don't have that stuff But i also isn't good for those people who traded tons for it in the trading room! My advice if you have any skater kat trophies or blue dragsters (those are the only remored one i know there was anyother one but i forget it) TRADE THEM ASAP BEFORE THEY GET COMPLETELY VALUELESS!

I never had a chance of trading for a retired skateboard - in fact I can't really remember anybody putting one up for trade

MHO but even tho the estoreskateboard might lower the value of the real skateboard I'll have to think whether I want to spend $$ for one

Is they don't change it from the regular Board, I am gonna be SOOOOOO infuriated. People had to play the game a lot and really hard or trade a lot for these trophies. I don't have one, but this is unfair to the people that do.
