BREAKING NEWS: Ganz Introduces "Signature Pets" *UPDATE*

Ganz has announced that they are introducing a new line of "life-like" Signature Pets.  The first plushie in this new series will be the "Signature Panda", which is expected to be for sale in stores starting in April 2009.  As soon as more information about these new plushies becomes available, we will let you know.  

 

UPDATE:  The new "Signature Panda" is expected to be priced at $25 to $30 each (US dollars).  Our friends at Ameriwade (www.ameriwade.com) were limited to only being able to order a dozen plushies total for their store, so we anticipate that these new plushies will be in short supply.  We also have more information on what the feature code that comes with the Signature Panda will unlock in Webkinz World:

  • one Wish Token
  • one eStore quality Pet Specific Item (shown HERE)
  • one piece of "Signature Room Theme" furniture (one item from the theme is shown below)

Well,honestly,I don't like it.It's cute and all,but this just doesn't seem like a true webkinz to me.

I really like that panda but I already have a webkinz panda, but if ganz does give some proceeds to WWF like hiltonii said then maybe i'll try to get it........

I do agree with SallyTheLittlekinz, it don't seem like a true webkinz though...........

I can't make up my mind!!! lol

It seems to me like they're loosing steam on the regular Webkinz line so now they have to add something new. Still, though, all this says to me is "HEY PEOPLE! HERE'S MORE STUFF FOR YOU TO BUY!"

Me neither. It's just not right. The Webkinz Jr was one thing. Those looked like amaeture, still overpriced, Webkinz. This is just not correct.
I suppose they're not coming out with a Signature Purple Floral Fox Wonder what the on-line versions will look like? Maybe for the online version they have real-life images walking around and sitting and stuff.

I think that the panda is cute, I like it, but is this going to be like Webkinz, except [like said] with more real-looking stuffies, and is a different program? I can't wait for updates on the new stuffies. I wonder why they called them "Signature Pets?" Is that just what they're called, like how "Webkinz"?

I really like the Panda. It's very cute, but I don't know if I would buy one. For one thing, I'm sure they will be more expensive. I was also wondering if they are going to be able to be adopted on the existing accounts or if there will be a whole different kind of account for them. If they will be on a different kind of account, I wouldn't buy one. I already wish I had more time to spend on the accounts that I have. I don't really have the time for another one. It would just take more time away from the ones that I have now.

I hope they do. My daughter and I were really disappointed when we got into the webkinz thing and found out ganz doesn't do anything for animals that are endangered nor for homeless pets, etc. It worries both of us that you can feed chocolate but in real life it is toxic to animals and we are concerned that some members won't know that and may accidentally harm their pets.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that ganz will finally help real live animals.

I was wondering that myself - Ganz has several stuffed animals that are not Webkinz. It would seem redundant for them to create another panda. It's adorable though.

If you read the article accompanying the announcement - it specifically says: "Something new is coming to Webkinz World..."

Why would Ganz announce a new pet on the Webkinz Newz and say it is something new to Webkinz World if it was NOT a Webkinz??
That would not make sense. Of course it's a new Webkinz. We will just have to wait to hear more!
I'd love it if the proceeds from the purchase went to the WWF!!
