Ganz has announced that the Webkinz Schnauzer will be the Pet of the Month for January 2010.  Players adopting a new Schnauzer in January will receive a special "loot bag" with a POTM Exclusive.  All players with Schnauzers on their accounts will have access to special POTM activities.
 
Remember, the Webkinz Golden Retriever is the POTM for October, the Webkinz Pug is the POTM for November, the Webkinz Koala is the POTM for December, and Webkinz Insider is your #1 source of information for everything Webkinz!

October 1st Events in Webkinz World

Can it possible be October already?  It seems like the month of September has just flown by!  
 
  • Pet of the Month Ribbons - On the 1st and 15th of every month, floating Pet of the Month Ribbons come to Webkinz World.  Click on a blue ribbon and get a chocolate version to feed to your pet.
  • Pet of the Month - It's a new month, and there's a new Pet of the Month.  For October the POTM is the Webkinz (large) Golden Retriever.  Adopt a new Webkinz Golden Retriever any day in October to receive a special POTM Gift Bag.  All Webkinz Golden Retriever owners will be able to participate in special POTM activities.
  • Caring Valley Tree - There's a new tree coming to the Caring Valley.  Players entering the Caring Valley code off of specially tagged Webkinz, and planting the required number of saplings in October, will receive a Haunted Hickory tree that they can customize and display in their Webkinz' yards.
  • Birthstone Pet - The Opal Pup is the Birthstone Pet for the month of October.  This doggie will be available at the eStore every day in October.
  • Deluxe Membership Gifts - Those of you who have signed up for a Deluxe Membership will receive a new Deluxe Gift Box in October.  October's special clothing item is the Halloween Headpiece.  The "Halloween Headpiece" is very similar in design to the "Jack-o-Lantern Hat" from the 2006 Halloween Gift Bag.  Thank you to WI member Webkinz_Lovers for the picture of her Snakes.

New October POTM Video Previews Webkinz Violet Cat + Kinzville Park?

The October Pet of the Month video is now playing in Webkinz World, to promote the Webkinz Golden Retriever being next month's Pet of the Month. Like last month's video, a new pet was shown throughout the video. While we don't have a name for the pet, judging from what happened with last month's Webkinz Strawberry Cloud Leopard, this new cat (Violet Cat?) will end up as a Webkinz you can buy!
 
 
Also in the video, it flashes past the gates to "Kinzville Park" and there are multiple references to "the park" at the end of the song. Is a Kinzville Park on the horizon in Webkinz World?

Pink Leopard update, info on Fall Fest

As everyone knows, this Month's Pet of the Month is the Webkinz Leopard. Ganz has been receiving a lot of feedback about the Pink spotted Leopard who shows a romantic interest in The Webkinz Leopard in the Video.
We have an OFFICIAL name for this new pet and it seems as though we may actually see it soon. Thank you to members, MissPuppy and Virtualpawprint, for this tidbit of information found on the Webkinz News site.
The Pink Leopard is called 'The Strawberry Cloud Leopard' and we will have to wait until the end of the month to find out any more information.
Also, we should be seeing some information on Wednesday about the dates for Fall Fest.
 
Just a note of interest, here. The POTM Webkinz Leopard is the one with Hairy fur, not the Smooth Spotted Leopard. It is only the standard sized Leopard that is POTM.

September 1st is just around the corner, and there are a lot of things scheduled to happen in Webkinz World on Tuesday:
 
  • Pet of the Month Ribbons - On the 1st and 15th of every month, floating Pet of the Month Ribbons come to Webkinz World.  Click on a blue ribbon to get a chocolate version to feed to your pet.
  • Pet of the Month - It's a new month, and there's a new Pet of the Month.  For September it's the Webkinz Leopard.  Adopt a new Leopard any day in September to receive a special POTM gift bag.  All Leopard owners will be able to participate in special POTM activities.
  • Deluxe Membership Gifts - Those of you who have signed up for a Deluxe Membership will receive a new Deluxe Gift Box in September.  September's special clothing item is Hypnotic Glasses.
  • Caring Valley Tree - There's a new tree coming to the Caring Valley.  Players entering the Caring Valley code off of specially tagged Caring Valley Webkinz, and planting the required number of saplings in September, will receive a Fantastic Fruit Tree that they can customize and display in their Webkinz' yards.
  • Birthstone Pet - The Sapphire Spaniel is scheduled to debut at the Webkinz eStore on Tuesday.  This new Birthstone Pet will be available at the eStore every day in September.  (Remember, the final day to purchase August's Birthstone Pet, the Peridot Dog, is Monday, August 31st.)
 
UPDATE:  Ganz has announced that the Sapphire Spaniel will not go on sale at the eStore at Midnight Eastern Time.  It will go on sale "later in the day" on Tuesday.

New Pet of the Month Video Brings up New Questions

As many of you have noticed, a new Pet of the Month music video was released today.  This video, called I Gotta Lotta Soft Spots For You! is an advertisement for the Webkinz Leopard (HM031), the POTM for September.  
 
Each time a new POTM video is released by Ganz, our forum gets flooded with questions about the items in the video, specifically the items that do not exist in Webkinz World.  For this video, our members are asking about the Black Hat, the Spotted Jacket, the Black Tie, the "Strawberry Leopard", and the Shakespeare Costume.   
 
At this point, there is no indication that Ganz is going to be releasing any of these items, or releasing any of the other items from any of the other videos.  If at some point we hear that these items will be released for Webkinz players, we will bring that news to you here.

New Additions to Webkinz World (Outdoor Furniture, POTM Exclusive, Goo Goo Berries)

Matintenance last night added a few things to Webkinz World for us. First readers are greeted with the front page. Addditional items for the treetop theme or outdoor rooms.
 
If you have been holding out adopting that Grey Arabian to see what the new Pet of the Month Item is, then wait no longer...
 
The Bouncy Bed Trampoline is here.
UPDATE: Thanks to TTGTTG, we now know that your pet can NOT sleep on it, they bounce!
 
They have also revealed when the Goo Goo Berries will appear for us. Between August 8th and August 14th they will be floating across the screens.
 
Finally, another trading room has been added to the Clubhouse, located in the KinzChat Plus section

  • Pet of the Month - It's a new month, and there is a new Pet of the Month.  For August, it's the Webkinz Grey Arabian.  Adopt a new Grey Arabian any day in August to receive a special POTM gift bag.  All Grey Arabian owners will be able to participate in special POTM activities.
  • Deluxe Membership Gifts - Those of you who have signed up for a Deluxe Membership will receive a new Deluxe Gift Box in August.  August's special clothing item is the Ringmaster's Blazer.
  • Caring Valley Tree - There's a new tree coming to the Caring Valley.  Players entering the Caring Valley code off of specially tagged Caring Valley Webkinz, and planting the required number of saplings in August, will receive an Ancient Oak Tree that they can customize and display in their Webkinz' yards.
  • Birthstone Pet - The Peridot Dog is scheduled to debut at the Webkinz eStore on Saturday.  This new Birthstone Pet will be available at the eStore every day in August.
  • Replica for Sale - For the first time ever, a Blue Dragster Replica will be for sale at the Ganz eStore.  This is the only time the Dragster will be for sale this year.  Remember, eStore Replicas cannot be traded or sent via KinzPost.
 
 
And, don't forget that Friday, July 31st, is the
final day of the Wacky Zingoz Celebration in
Webkinz World and the final day to purchase
the Ruby Retriever at the Ganz eStore.
 

October's Pet of the Month Announced: Webkinz Golden Retriever

Ganz has announced that the Webkinz Golden Retriever is going to be the Pet of the Month for October 2009.  Players adopting a new Webkinz (large) Golden Retriever during October will receive a POTM "Loot Bag" with a special POTM Exclusive Item and will get to participate in special Daily Activities during the month.  Players who already have Webkinz Golden Retrievers on their accounts will also get to participate in the special activities.  
 
Remember, the POTM for July is the Spotted Frog, the POTM for August is the Grey Arabian, and the POTM for September is the Leopard.  If you are looking to add any of these pets to your Webkinz Family, check out WI's Partner Store, Ameriwade (www.ameriwade.com).   • Deluxe Membership Gifts - Those of you who have signed up for a Deluxe Membership will receive a new Deluxe Gift Box in July.  July's special clothing item is expected to be a Samuari Helmet.
  • Caring Valley Tree - There's a new tree coming to the Caring Valley.  Players entering the Caring Valley code off of specially tagged Caring Valley Webkinz, and planting the required number of saplings in July, will receive a Delicious Deciduous tree that they can customize and display in their Webkinz' yards.
