Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

After today's update, the Winterfest Challenge was added to Webkinz World.

The problem comes for Non Deluxe members. In recent weeks, Ganz has made certain games that are only available to Deluxe members and Waddell's Icecap Adventure was amongst the list of games that were made exclusive to them.
The last part of the Winterfest Challenge asks members to earn 20 KinzCash in a Deluxe Only game, which is not accessible to Non Deluxe members. Hopefully this oversight will be fixed soon and everyone in Webkinz World will be able to complete the Winterfest Challenge.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

Not according to the Customer Service rep today. She said it was set up to allow regular members to complete the first two parts and for Deluxe members to complete the third part. I asked that she register a complaint on my part and she said she would. This is one of the saddest thing Ganz has done, how do you explain to a 6 or 7 year old that this is a far as they can go?

I do hope they will reconsider this option.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

Wow, Ganz probably didn't think twice when putting a Deluxe only game in a non deluxe challenge. Thanks for the update!

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I just saw on Webkinz Newz that the last part is SUPPOSED to be for Deluxe Members! THAT MAKES ME SO MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate this logo!!!:

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

yes sadly it is supposed to be this way.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

Well, at least it isn't the major things in WW going deluxe.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I think it's very mean and low of Ganz to have the challenge fixed to where not everyone can finish it without being deluxe!

2,000 eStore points will allow you to skip the step meaning Non-Deluxies can finish it.

Don't forget, Superpenguin, not everyone on WW has eStore points to spend. Young children, or those without a lot of discretionary spending money are not going to be able to whip out their credit card and charge $10 (the minimum eStore purchase is 10,000 points) so they can complete a Webkinz World challenge.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

Well I guess we should all be grateful they didn't make an all deluxe only Santakinz room................I guess I shouldn't give them any ideas
This stinks for non deluxe and it isn't right!

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I think that Webkinz needs to reconsider who their target audience is. This website is for younger children. Having so many things "deluxe" is taking their fun away from playing. Our children are frankly annoyed at all the deluxe-only changes, and don't want to use their limited computer time playing on this site anymore. Making a challenge deluxe only is going too far. I don't think our kids will be spending OUR MONEY buying the pets anymore.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I called them this afternoon and filed a complaint about this too, Rep said to email a complaint to webkinzsupport@ganz.com. Everyone should email their dissatisfaction with the fact that they did this to non members. I sent my letter off earlier.

That would be fine and dandy if everyone had estore points on their WW account.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I love your wording cows4u,....oversite,..from what I have been hearing it is intentional. I dont like the direction ganz is taking webkinz in. Even if a person is deluxe it doesnt make it enjoyable for them knowing that others ,.specially friends,. cannot participate in things as you do. Recently it as gien me a bad taste in my mouth (as they say).
They hype up everything then we finally find out the FULL details,..and I think that is kind of a dirty business practice. Not happy with investing in what I have been investing in.

Thanks for this info & I will send an email..This is unfair
It seems like so many things are becoming Deluxe only

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I will not spend more money to become deluxe nor spend money for Epoints. When you spend $15 or more on one pet (and I usually buy several a year) that should be sufficient. It's fine if they want to ADD extra's for deluxe members but to TAKE AWAY from the non-deluxe members is just WRONG! And Ganz keeps doing this. Why should I continue to drop money on plush when they're continually taking away from us?

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I do not think this was a very creative move of the creative director.
This is yet one more time I actually feel guilty having a Deluxe account

To the non Deluxe accounts: I am sorry you are made to feel penalized

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I agree with all of you. The thing I keep asking myself is why are they doing this? If you have happy customers, your customers will spend more. If you have bad customer service, the wallets close. I used to spend my money on estore points, plush, deluxe membership (for me and my kids). Now its been months since I even considered buying anything from Ganz. I know I'm not the only one, I read it here, and on WKN. I know they know we are unhappy, soon advertisers will get the hint that Webkinz is no longer popular, and all their revenue will vanish. It's sad, I love my Webbies, I just hate the bad service I have been getting lately.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

Please call and send emails, if enough people do it , they may do something about it.

I would like them to tells us how we explain this to the children, ask them that in your email...I did.

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

So...they did this on purpose? Not a "glitch"? Not a "mistake"? They actually thought this was a good idea? Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!

PLEASE...EVERYONE....SEND AN EMAIL AND VOICE YOUR UNHAPPINESS AT THE UNFAIRNESS OF THIS CHALLENGE!

Re: Winterfest Challenge has Members Scratching their Heads

I do hope Ganz is listening and heeding the complaints about this. I fear that Ganz realizes that Webkinz are fading in popularity. Instead of doing the smart thing and making it more attractive they are alienating their most loyal customers by closing out so many things and turning them into Deluxe only. NO ONE is happy with the most recent changes - even the Deluxe people! Please Ganz, don't kill the joy of Webkinz World because you don't feel you are making enough moolah! Please turn around and don't follow the path of self-destruction any longer!
