Snowball Collection Event in Webkinz World! *UPDATE*

Winter is now in full swing in the northern hemisphere, and in Webkinz World also! The much-anticipated Snowball Collection Event has started and will run from January 18 to February 10, 2013.
 
If you enjoyed the Flower Collection, the Marshmallow Collection event back in July 2012, or the Halloween Candy Collection, you will like this one also since they are the same type of Click-to-Win contest. Open your Webkinz World account and go to the Map of Kinzville. In the bottom right-hand corner of your Map, you will find the snowball as pictured here on the left. Click on it to play the Snowball Collection game. You get a free bonus snowball just for showing up! Then, you can ask up to 5 of your Friends (from your Kinzphone) and send them requests for snowballs. You can send a total of 10 requests per day but only 5 snowballs will be counted. For a seventh snowball, look for the ad in Webkinz Newz.  A word of warning: get your seventh snowball from the Webkinz Newz ad LAST; otherwise, it will just count as one of the 5 from your friends!
 
Here are the prizes that you win as you reach the 3rd, 8th, 15th, 20th and 30th snowballs:
 
 
They are the Icicle Icing Cupcake, the Winterfest Snow Globe Hat, the White Magnolia Tree (which was a promo item for the movie: "Mirror Mirror"), the Snow Cushioned Bench (an eStore item) and the grand prize of the Webkinz Willow Sapling from the retired Caring Valley Webkinz Foundation.
 
Our Webkinz Insider members will be happy to know that when they have completed their collection, they can start all over again and get more of these prizes, over and over again.
 
UPDATE: When this event first began, there was an option to complete your collection for the grand prize and begin again .. That option is no longer available once you complete your snowball collection after the recent "fix". If you started a second round before the "fix", you are able to complete it and get your grand prize, but once done, you will no longer be able to begin a new collection.

Kept trying to figure out why my snowballs werent counting yesterday, so i took a better look today at the message.


Congratulations! You've found the special Snowball ad. Log in, if necessary, to receive your prize and then check your snowball collection in Webkinz World for your snowball. If you already received 5 snowballs from friends today, you will not receive another.
Check for the prize in your Webkinz World dock!

Yeah Ms.Mom, I had a few accounts that got 7 for yesterday and the rest only got 6. Then I realized that the accounts that had 7 were the ones I sent requests out on before I went to the newz.

I'm confused, so you only need to send the requests, not receive the snowballs before webkinz newz?
Will you receive more than five? I only got 4 yesterday, definitely doing something wrong...

Yes today I did wkn First then sent out my requests and got my 7.
I think they have that statement incorrect.
You should do the wkn snowball First then send out your requests.

Here is something I have always wondered about "ask a friend" events like this: What day does the snowball you receive count for? Is it the day it is actually sent to your account, or is it the day you log on and see that it was sent? If a snowball is sent but you never log on to see it, does it still count?

For example, if someone sends me a snowball at 10:00 at night, but I don't log on to see it until the next morning, does it count for the day before when it was sent, or that day that it was received?

I believe it is for the day that you receive it. I am lucky and have enough accounts so that I send requests only for myself and so I don't have to rely on anyone else.

I have a few tips for collecting snowballs. First, if you want the one from WKN to count, you need to go to your map and get your free snowball there. You can send out your 5 requests at the same time. Do not look for the ad until you have collecting your free snowball by clicking on the map. Then you can do the ad and if you log back on and accept your requests and get all 5 from your friends you will have 7 snowballs for the day. If you do the ad first, you will have only 6.

I was 3 short on my Asian account and when I did this procedure I logged on and sent only one request for a snowball and then found the ad and logged back on and completed. After that it gives you the option to replay and you can then ask for 5 more snowballs.

Boy...this is really great. I only need 3 more snowballs to get the sapling. Just love knowing that I can start all over again. Really want another snow cushioned bench. Good Luck to Everyone!

Love that you can do it all over again, especially since the bench cannot be mailed. I am also glad that replaying actually works!

And yes, the snowball counts from when it was sent to you. So if you send out 10 request at 10pm KT, whichever ones are sent before midnight count for that day, any sent after midnight KT count towards the next day.
