Ganz Launches New Webkinz Game on Facebook -- Webkinz Friends!

Thanks to FIA, who has an amazing knack for finding hidden Webkinz information, for this exclusive news! This is probably the biggest announcement we've ever made here on Webkinz Insider -- Ganz has opened up a new Facebook App and website called Webkinz Friends!

It's currently in beta and it has clearly been in development for a long time. We know that we're going to have to create a new area (Webkinz Friends Forum) or multiple areas in the forum for things related to Webkinz Friends, and we'll need your help in the Webkinz Wiki to help create guides and information for the new game! It's a whole new take on Webkinz World, sort of a Farmville meets Webkinz World.. You build your own town and city, and you can also build your Webkinz World home as normal. Ganz is continuing the "quest" playstyle from Webkinz World in Webkinz Friends as well.

 

Description of the app:

The game is designed to be for older players (you must be 13+ to join Facebook), but those in Webkinz Friends can still send gifts to younger players in Webkinz World. You can visit your friends' towns... Here's Sir Rhineholt's Town, a mascot in the game that is automatically your friend! He sure has a big town!

 

I've just played around in it and I entered a regular plush adoption code for a Pug and it worked flawlessly. From what I can tell, you "earn" a new pet adoption for every 5 days that you play the game, or you can enter a pet code from a Plushie Webkinz if you want to adopt one right away. As long as the code hasn't been used, or was used in Webkinz World after May, 2012, it can be used in Webkinz Friends. I was unable to enter an eStore code.

 

After playing it, I expect this to become a very popular game akin to Farmville and I fully expect Webkinz Insider members to dissect all of the details and secrets on how to get the most out of Webkinz Friends!
