Webkinz Insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

Some of our members have been complaining recently of a persistent problem with their Internet Explorer 9 brower freezing or crashing every time they log into Webkinz World. Thanks to Webkinz Insider member Elymic for offering this simple solution to this problem, HERE.

It appears that Internet Explorer 8 is more compatible with Webkinz World than the new Internet Explorer 9. By uninstalling IE9, your computer will automatically revert to IE8. Members have found that this  also solved the problem of the disappearing screen, which used to announce the new prizes won on Webkinz Newz, on logging into your Webkinz World account.

Hopefully this information will help some of our members with their crashing browser problem.

Thanks for the help

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

I have been using IE8 and I do NOT see the prizes displayed if I am using the old link ( Welcome to Webkinz ); but I do see the prizes with the new link ( Webkinz World - Come In and Play ). So if you have the old link bookmarked and use it, you may still not see the prizes when you log in.

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

I did try this -removing IE9- but it slowed down everything else on my computer. I finally had to reinstall IE9 to get things back to normal.

Wow, thank you so much! The prize screen did come up, but I have to scroll down to see my dock, it is not all on one page, any other great tips?

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

I run IE8 and I do not get the prize screen .. and if I use the newer Come in and Play link, I have to scroll horizontally and vertically to see the whole page .... so I have to chose which is more important to me .. I guess I can live with not having the Prizes popup, ..but it is an inconvenience ..

I am so glad that it is working for some peeps though...

Here's another tip: If you are playing a game that uses the arrow keys (like Colorstorm), then with the new link (with scrollbars), the whole window will scroll when you use the arrow keys unless you can maximize your screen so the scrollbars go away. You may want to use the old link if you are playing games that need to use the arrow keys!
(but maybe it only happens to me because of my IE settings? not really sure, but it is so annoying to have the whole screen move back & forth when trying to play Colorstorm! gives me motion sickness!)

I tried it too -- works slowly and no real improvement. Had to go back to IE9

I like the old link better too (I dislike the scrollbars). You could always log in using the new link to see your prizes (in case you don't want to load your dock in order to see what you got for a "random" prize) and then log out and use the old link when you log back in (that is what I have been doing).

The other thing you can do, is to go to the loader page directly, instead of going to Webkinz homepage first. This seems to work. Welcome to Webkinz I don't know why this works, but it does!

It said I won a Gourd Chair!!!!!

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

you don't need to uninstall ie9, people...

you can press F12, and the dev tools will come up.. you can switch the browser mode manually to IE8 or 7 from there..

either that or use google chrome! it's a much better browser anyway!!

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

Mine works fine, but I just checked what version of IE i have, and I have IE 7, so no wonder I'm having no problems! I hope everyone else figures out how to fix theirs!

I can confirm it. It looks like IE9 has some "security" issues with separate flash windows.

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

Great job Elymic! Hopefully everyone's accounts are up and running as usual.

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

Thanks for the info.Everyone have a wonderful day and God bless.

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

i've been having that problem too, something that i figureed out is that like on the netbooks, when you would go directly to, mci2.webkinz.com/loader4.php?go=loadReturnUserW&aol=0&fs=0 which will bring you directly to the webkinz world login page, then you log into your account then hit, FUNCTION + f11, also known as the key that says, "fn" next to your control button on the left side.

hope this helps
sincerely,

Thanks for the info.
Except I hate using Google Chrome in WW, because my items in my dock fly all over the page, and I can never sell things back to the W-Shop because of that glitch.
WW really needs to stop putting more and more stuff into their system and actually fix the current problems. I'm so sick of having to constantly switch browsers in order to do different tasks. I find myself playing less and less because of all the problems. It's just becoming not worth the time.

Re: Webkinz insider Member Offers Solution to Internet Exporer Crashing Problem!

This wasn't happening to me, but I'm glad it's fixed for the people who were affected.
